It's a distro to audit the security of X.

Do you think it's okay to use it on a Thinkpad ?

It's a utility pentest distro. It's not meant for daily desktop usage.

cyka blyat

put it on a usb and keep it in your pocket.

shibboleth for skids

Gotta start somewhere.

It'll work, if that's what you mean.

Kali is the goto distro for every script kiddy who wants people to think he knows how to use any of the tools on it.

what if they just, you know, learn how to use the tools?

Not likely. They'd have to grow a brain first.

meme os

You don't install Kali on PC Jesus Christ OP.
If you don't get that then Kali isn't for you.

It's not just for skids professionals use it too, instead of having to download every tool they need they just put this distro in a VM.

Bloated memeware, absolutely not recommended for normal usage. Unless you are an actual hackerman, the tools bundled with it are useless and Kali is just bad for literally anything else.
If you want a secure distro on your usb stick, just use Tails. If you actually want a decent pentest distro, try Parrot.

Explain yourself

It's ok to use it for the intended purpose of auditing the security of X no matter the hardware you install it on.
This distro is made for purely auditing security.
It's not made for a day to day desktop use.
It was made so that security researchers have all the tools necessary very quickly.

it has a cool logo

Honestly I want to say their marketing killed them, but to be fair its honestly fine for live usbs when too lazy to set up anything else on it.
Its got your suite of tools for connecting to the internet and honestly if alls you're doing is connecting into the internet thats probably all you need.
But the rest of the tools people have on there to look like 1337 hax0rz yeah that shit looks pretty gay, especially considering how some of them are outdated at this point.

Parrot Security OS

Much better equipped than Kali and more usable, but still quite bloated, even more so than Kali. Fiddled around with it a little in VirtualBox, seems to have everything. Would recommend if you are into that sort of thing. They say the next version will be based on Devuan instead of Debian, because of systemdicks.

But it's just Debian with some preinstalled tools. Why isn't it good for daily use ?

Don't let memers confuse you. If you make a new non root account kali can work fine for daily shit.

time to stop making million distros and have some that have proper quality assurance, compatibility testing and game support
