==WHY DO WE HAVE A POTUS?==

WHY DO WE HAVE A POTUS?

QUESTION LIFE EDITION

Let's have an intelligent and serious discussion on something that I've long thought about. Why do we keep perpetuating this overly hybridized and broken system?

I realized that this was an actual thing #NOPOTUS on twatter and some educated Americans actually speculate and investigate why we are perpetuating the electoral college.

Why don't we actually do this?

(1) Only after a fizzled attempt to run the country through disparate committees in individual states did the creators of the United States Constitution decide at a historic convention in 1787 that there needed to be a strong national government with a leader on top.

Okay, so let's look into some facts on why the Electoral College is a failed system.

(2) The President of the United States is not chosen through a national popular vote because the framers of the Constitution adopted the Electoral College, which gives each state as many votes as it has members of Congress.

Most Americans have NO IDEA how the voting process actually works. They think that it's like putting tokens in a pot. Whoever has more tokens, wins the vote.

People believe,

In reality:
April 30, 1789 – March 4, 1797
Vice President: John Adams
Preceded by: Inaugural holder
Succeeded by: John Adams

Now, this was back in the late 1700s. When the country was already at war on it's frontiers, looking to expand it's resources, and consisted of fledgling national guards in each state attempting to form a national identity and secure it's peoples safety. The beginnings of a nation born from revolution against the most powerful empire in the world. The Constitution being the most influential and important thing to be created out of it all. A president was only created to serve as a head of the state union/military (which on consisted of 13 colonies) post revolutionary war (1775-1783). Today, the USA consisted of 50 (Some may argue 51, or 56) states. Wouldn't a true democracy actually prove to be more efficient today with such staggering variety of demographics and cultures inhabiting the nation?

I attempting to explain how the voting system works or why we wouldn't really need a president anymore but people are in major disbelief or lack of comprehension on what the electoral college, of even how a government without a president would look like. Perhaps a system more adopted towards ACTUAL DEMOCRACY and not a federal government (investigate the cucked Federalist Party (3) )

The USA is such a broad spectrum of demographic and state specific laws/regulations… wouldn't it make sense to actually have a democratic form of government that although still upheld in a union, would govern as a collective of states (Actual democracy) instead of the current faux democracy Oligarchical current system.

As Americans, we sure do love tradition and our conservative moral ideals (at least we did…) - But it just seems like things are no longer working out. States that have completely different interests are massively effecting the entire country when it comes to how the system functions.
I think it's time to start admitting to ourselves that, the system is broken. Functioning as well as a paraplegic cross between Hillary, McCain, and Cheney. One thing is for certain - We're basically calling this crippled system on life support, "Not broken", when it's painfully obvious that it is when being completely non-biased and objective.

Strong believer of a Republic government myself - but I cannot dispute the power of democracy when a broad population clamors for it's voice to be heard. However, even Nationalism has isn't benefits that are commonly overlooked today.

In summation:

Kikes or not, someone in the world will take advantage of something if they can get away with it.

I can't really agree with that. There are people who are not wholly indulged in greed or the ego and are committed to creating a proper functioning governance for it's fellow citizens.

It's it the responsibility of the people to stop exploitation? Are we all really that weak and submissive towards the current system??

...

First thing I thought

That's a good post bro, but I'm really going to have to advise you look into the difference between "its" and "it's".

We don't need Congress anymore either. We live in a world where the entire nation's votes can be counted in a single night, why do we need (((representatives))) to vote for us anymore?

It's been proven that most people in Congress don't read the bills either, so what's the difference?

...

/thread

First we'd have to fix the voting system so parties other than democrat or republican could be represented in Congress. If you got rid of the president now, the country would still be in the hands of the establishment.

It's an interesting idea all in all, but every group needs a leader.

Marxist Absolute Democracy was the system that failed.

Not all people are the same. The intelligent deserve a much higher percentage of the vote.

SHIT THREAD

fuck the hell on back off to Holla Forums

Is that your argument really?

The electoral college is a broken, non-democratic system. It's inefficient and easily controlled/corrupted.

Trump would be an excellent Senator in my opinion. Let him rise as Consul?

you must be terrified of the coming shoah

(checked)

Yeah, there are a few typos. I tend to write better in Word then copy/paste it into the text box. However, I just wrote this all out in the box in a stream of thought. Started to cite resources to back it up and correcting typos but missed a few.

Thanks fam.

You don't need to get rid of the office of the president to get rid of the electoral college at all. Why do they think that? The popular vote is counted anyway, literally all you have to do is, you know, not fucking bother with the college.

This. OP should've been banned.

Oh, how dare I not believe in a broken federal system that basically oligarchical and non-democratic!! Presidents are too easily controlled and inefficient as a sole head of a large collective of states.

The electoral college is a corruptible and inane joke. Didn't you learn anything when someone with Trumps vast citizens support didn't win the states that he had a population majority of support in?

I'm saying that the electoral college is broken, and the need for a POTUS is unnecessary is you know your history or investigate/educate yourself.

You can't get rid of the Office of the President unless you amend the Constitution.

Good luck.

Why do you think that they don't read these bills? Maybe because it's become reliant on an unsuccessful federal model.

Please read.

Is false. Soldiers need a general. Office employees need a manager. There must be someone who reigns supreme at the top otherwise nothing will get done. """"True Democracy"""" is mob rule, and what great wonders does mob rule have to show for itself? There are none. Humans need a clear, strict hierarchy to function. The problem with the federal model is the false belief in checks and balances, not it's correct belief in leadership.

Okay. It's painfully obvious that nobody here is reading the cited material or knows their American history.

We functioned without a head of the nation just fine. The only reason we instilled a president was to act as head of the military and for federal actions… but guess what?

The whole federation idea was broken from the start. It was really just ENGLAND 2.0 (AMERICA EDITION), since it wanted to act as a constitutional monarchy Federate Oligarchy

If anything we should have a monarch.

Fuck you kike.

Trump for King of America.

So, what about the Head of State, Agriculture, etc? What are their functions? Do they rely on the president?

It's a lot of questions I know. But you should educate yourself and understand that we existed for 2 decades without a president and a broken system for election.

I'm not disagreeing with you user. In the contrary. Attempting to explain that there are head of these functions in the government already.

The system for electing a president is UN-democractic.

It's not "one person, one vote". A need for a president isn't required. Do you know how democratic and republic societies functioned? with a Head of State. They are still elected, but do not have a federal function.

I agree with OP. This president shit has gone on too long. Just look at the problems it has caused under King Nigger and others!

What we need is an Emperor.
Hail Emperor Trump, First of His Name, The Lord of Walls, the Golden Don, Blessed by Kek. Long shall he and his descendants reign!

Or maybe it's because they're lazy assholes who don't actually give a shit what's in the bills as long as their (((donors))) tell them to vote yes.

Please suck my dick.

You should look up why we got rid of that system. It's a lot of work but repeating failures won't make them successes.
What exactly is the difference between a president and a head of state? There isn't one by the way, aside from maybe some pseudo-philosophical ramblings that have no practical value.

This is close to what I'm saying, but people are too pozed to take on any type of triggering information.

A Head of State functions as the nations elected official. A president is for a federal function. It's different anons…

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic

A republic (from Latin: res publica) is a sovereign state or country[1] which is organized with a form of government in which power resides in elected individuals representing the citizen body[2][3] and government leaders exercise power according to the rule of law.

at the end of the day you should really be asking yourself why you want to still postulate upon democracy in the first place when it's a failed experiment of an interracial porno

...

They reveal themselves more because they're afraid

Every action they make and don't make only result in further revealing their hand.

There is absolutely no reason a republic cannot have a king.

Don't be pedantic.

There is no place for a lobbyist in a democracy chaim. Nice try schlomo.

We didn't… we modified it to incorporate a federal function because of the federal party that was basically England 2.0 (America Edition)

A inaugural head was in place. We need to return to a democratic form of government w/ a head of state and heads of specific functions.

They what do you propose?

That autism

Weebcuck go educate yourself on how a government functions.

By your posts you show yourself to have only a shallow understanding of how political structures operate, you shouldn't be lecturing others.

do you even know where you are right now?

praise kek

I'm losing my faith in this society. How can so many understand the basic concepts of government?

Who cares what 'title' a head of state wants to take on. The problem is a federal oligarchical head.

I smell a slide thread but I'll take the bait.

Following your logic why not suspend or eliminate the federal government completely? Leave it all to the states. The Federal government is broken but it's not solely the fault of the President. The legislature and Judiciary played large roles as well.

But we don't need to eliminate it. Just limit it as the founder's intended. Set term limits. Being a congressman should be a service to your nation not a career. Deport all the Jews, Blacks and other minorities. Limit voting based on owning property, IQ, something.

You know it's funny we talk about letting state's have more power but few mention the obvious… they have no voice in the federal government. The Senators used to be selected by the states and be their voice in national matters. The only option for state's is to sue on each and every matter. Essentially begging federal courts to side against the federal government. The 17th amendment was a major fuck up. Repealing it would be simpler than suspending the Presidency. And it would help fix things.

No the problem is the methodology of deciding who is fit to rule and to what degree their power is relegated.

That is literally THE ONLY FUCKING THING THAT MATTERS.

No, democracy is idiotic

lol holy shit this is awesome.

10/10 down syndrome post -

Is it too hard to postulate and attempt to have an intelligent discussion on why the ELECTORAL COLLEGE IS BROKEN

Soooo-Krates is amazing

Why?

Democracy itself is a jewish ideal you useful idiot.

You mean a group of people that double check to see if it falls within the laws and a group of people elected by the nation's citizens see if it's popular with the citizens? The way the POTUS is elected is really the only thing that can be changed for the better.

There has been an increase of shills again lately, the kikes are fucking terrified.

That post wasn't meant to be a reply, my bad.

yeah, and between him and plato fascism sees it's roots

it's relevant though considering what you replied to.
if you are on this board and you don't understand why democracy is inherently flawed, either lurk more or get the fuck out because this is not the place for you.

Democracy has failed everywhere it has been attempted. Even the democratic countries of today are merely husks of their former selves, dragging on through fed injections and make believe money. There is no future in these systems.

You've restored my faith in educated anons coming to pol. You've earned my respect for good form sir.

Very true. My main argument is how silly we allow/perpetuate the broken system.

Yes! - It should be a temporary status appointed/elected in order to serve their function.

YES! - The welfare class was once seen as a minority of the labor class. Now, the 'welfare class' is basically 54% of African Americans and a huge majority of the lower class (also mostly non-white). Jews and Muslims in their morals are basically non-democratic and based upon biased/toxic religious beliefs to co-exist in a society with. We should not abide.

Many countries use the electoral college to select their president, but they also use proportional voting and their presidents are not as powerful. The benefit of an indirect election, especially if electors are alloted based on proportional voting, if the elected president lacks a popular mandate, he's a consensus candidate, he cant just demagogue himself into more power.

Go back to your Reddit hugbox if you can't handle actual discussion on a political board.
I hate how every decent thread that's not about LE TRUMP SHADILAY MEME MAGIC XD is immediately spammed with shitposting.
Polite sage for off topic.

because the nature of the beast means that over time you will grant as many people the vote as possible in order to secure support, even if those groups are fundamentally opposed to the nation
The majority of people really don't care what happens in a 5 mile bubble around them as long as their life isn't inconvenienced, leaving the matters of the nation in their hands is just stupid.
An autocracy or monarchy is the better choice in the long run, and has a far better track record than democracy can even throw up

Sure there's the threat of a bad leader, but a few bad leaders is far more preferable to eternal bad leaders in democracy where they'll sell their nation away for a few more votes since they have no real stake in the nation, especially in the globalized era of today

Democracy can only work when you have a highly restricted voting class that has a stake in the nation's future, and democracy will constantly seek to undermine that as political factions try to bring in new voters to break up the old blocks

Democracy fails due to it's acceptance of toxic polities/citizens moving into the nation.

It may not be the best system out there, but we should be honest with ourselves at least and attempt to bring our country towards an honest and moral center

- I'm a nationalist myself with strong convictions for personal security and education.

So you claim to understand political theory and don't see why democracy is an utter sham and completely irresponsible.

Representative democracy which is what America has is completely irresponsible. America should be remolded into a true American Republic led by a monarchical figure with the authority to choose any successor as long as they are deemed sufficiently capable by the governing body.

Senate should be chosen by state governments and congress should be a pseudo-military organization in order to promote discipline and unity, high ranking military leaders (say anyone above the equivalent rank of an army staff sergeant) would be called to convene at a set interval to choose from each rank a suitable nominee for addition to congress and out of the choices senate would vote for the final decision. Requirement for holding a position in any state congress or being a state governor or senator would be a mandatory service in the State Guard (no more national guard shit every state needs their own military) and if found to have necessary characteristics to govern receiving a paid education at a university (actual university like we had in the early 20th century not the jewish bullshit we have no) and the ability to hold political office for life. No term limits across the board, term-limits are a stop-gap measure and cannot stop corruption.

We shoudnt limit voting based on IQ, studies say's that people with more IQ are less likely to be religious, almost all "smart" people are amoral fedora tier idiots. the whole reason we are in this place is because we rejected jesus and the teaching of the church for rationalism and science. This stupid science says that jesus wasnt god and the earth isnt flat , is just a bunch of lies and yet this smart people believe them , imagine giving them more power that they currently have. we need a theocracy not a democracy in any form

Uh I don't know where you've been big guy but Holla Forums is a very spiritual board, get Kek in your life man okay?

Democracy fails for many, many reasons. One of them is that there is no responsibility. The individual is not accountable for the results of his vote, if the country goes south everyone can claim
and so avoid punishment for their failures. If there is no responsibility there is no stability, no good judgment and no positive outcome. Democracy is a sin.

Agreed!

They are out en force today.

Had more to say to this-

SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS!

It's hard to find people these days who actually comprehend how the system functions. We need to repeal the 17th amendement. Senators were once elected by state legislatures, and need to be AGAIN. Make States Great Again.

My biggest problem is the electoral college and the delegate voting system (not even going into the face that we use a coin toss for ties in some case)

I honestly believe we could exist and would become far less corruptible if we returned to our starting position.

You've earned all my Internets for this thread thus-far.

(Checked)
The most important thing is that those who govern are held accountable for their competency or lack of. Democracy just says fuck you goyim.

Reddit: The Post

Because there hard choices aren't popular. It's a general rule of life and becomes exaggerated in matters of state. Now why in the hell would an average president who is facing reelection for himself or his party; raise taxes when they need to be, truly enforce the law against seditious but popular personalities and groups, or try to make a case to the general public that living as a sovereign and free people is worth paying a few bucks extra for avocados?

Now remember that half of all prospective presidents are worse than that average.

Poor Leadership is what often leads to other problems down the road. Even the relatively moral and sensible United States from the 1800s still had abject failures of presidents. Now we have a full blown degradation of society and culture, and yet we give the right to exercise political force to any human being who has crawled on this earth for 18 years.

That's insanity. Even the best representative systems fall, given a long enough timeline. The Greek democracies lasted a generation or two. Rome lasted a couple centuries before succumbing to empire.

So do you really dont believe that the earth is spherical ,the theory of evolution or any other of the contribution the science has made?

Good post user. The point is to start an intelligent conversation on the functions of the POTUS and electoral college. Democracy too, sure.

America is not a democracy. If you read the OP then you'd know I already went into this.

I agree.

Completely agree! We have an indoctrinated version of what university once was. It's now mostly served as a function of farming money and 'paying to unlock education' by professors who use shitty books to explain simple concepts sometimes better explained by the students themselves.

I've had so many conversations on why the whole education system is beyond broken at this point. Unless you're trying to become a doctor or something who requires REAL EDUCATION for their career choice.
Not some liberal arts/women's rights degree that serves no greater function or cannot be attained by simple means, reading, and explanations.

(deus vult checked)

I made a joke several years ago that being able to vote should require someone to take an education test to prove they understand the basic concepts of government as well as a short test on all candidates to make sure they understand what each candidate represents and promises.

We should also have a 'system' that allows each candidate to make three 'promises' in office. After 1 year into office, they could lose their job if they cannot prove they have been attempting to complete their promises previously or convince an appointed council that they can not longer achieve them for reasons out of their control.

A POTUS or any elected official should really just be on a probationary period for the first 6months-1 year into office and could easily be replaced by their 2nd, or even the 2nd place elected person.

Just an idea.

Congratulation now you know why the dark ages happened

this

I'm of the mind that republics can be effective on a smaller, more homogenous scale. On the national and international scales they tend to be very inflexible and cumbersome when responding to changing political landscapes. Democracies fail because they are essentially mob rule. Whatever faction that can gain 50.01% of the vote is immediately given the reigns of power and the other 49.99% of society is disregarded.
As I'm sure Holla Forumsacks are aware, this flaw is exacerbated in (((multicultural))) societies where the worthless breeders arabs, mexicans, and blacks can and will outnumber the productive demographics, leading to a system similar to our own in burgerland where one or two racial demographics support all dem programs for everyone else.

I believe that for a republic to thrive it must resist any and all call to extend political franchise to every class of citizen. There must be a single political class of franchised citizens that are raised to be concerned with the fate of their society. The American Republic of the 18th and 19th centuries, though flawed, allowed for a greater prosperity among Americans because of a restricted right to vote.

a republic is proven to be one of the, if not the premiere, form of governance for a homogeneous, non degenerate society.

Damn it's like i'm really on reddit

Anyone that brings up "flat earth" is a well-poisoning kike trying to make you look stupid.
