Not true. If you choose not to work you will starve. It is based on recieving the full value of your labor. In communism you aren't prevented from producing and using your skills because their is not an economic incentive to create artificial scarcity or stifle competition. Amerifats go on and on about communism being synonymous with regulations, but the regulations that they criticize are the product of capitalism. Regulations can exist in communism, but regulations to stifle competition is unique to capitalism. Inb4 oligarchs buying government influence isn't "real" capitalism.

Communism has actually worked before; its problem isn't practical or ideological, but rather with the fact that all of the actual communists keep getting gulaged and murdered by Bolsheviks. Read about the Free Territory or the Spanish Revolution if you'd like to see evidence. Since Bolsheviks are a modern problem, and not one that has always or will always exist, there's no reason why communism couldn't work at another point in time.

Communism on the other hand has no incentive to create scarcity (although it might be politically expedient for a centralized government to create a crisis, that's its own topic). In fact, communism incentivizes the opposite, that you produce to meet demand. Anyone who ever played Runescape or those other mmo's back in the day know how much of a disaster "freemarket" Capitalism is. I personally wrecked several markets in that game for millions in profit. Market manipulation is actually quite easy if you have the capital.
