Introducing AutiNet

I am currently working on an Alt-Network that is physically disconnected from the internet for chans. My current proposal is in the pdf file. I would have uploaded the plain-text but freemason jim can't seem to make Holla Forums recognize .txt.

I am calling it AutiNet (short for Autistic Net) and it will use protocols similar to basic TC/IP but will not be. Pic related is a (poorly drawn) visualization of what I've made so far.

I hope that this can work. Right now it's purely in a conceptual phase. The goal is not anomyity but a simple alt-net. In fact, they way I've set it up prohibits anomyity. The primary goal is for if SHTF you can distribute shit.

Furthermore, I may remove the tidbit about a central authority. Other IRCFags are suggesting to me I use DHT instead. I am unsure.

So... it's a dial-up UUCP net.

It does not use the telephone system. It uses WiFi, and a scheme similar to IPv4. Hosts are designated using UUCP-like addresses so not quite

That's what DNS is for. I don't think we should use DNS because it allows for anyone connecting to the wireless network to easily resolve anything. This is why I want to maintain and distribute a host file myself based on submitted topolgy of the network.

What I mean by this is that it doesn't connect ot the actual "Internet". It's a network completly seperated from what is known as the "Public Internet". It's completrly independent. If you can't grasp this concept you need to lurk moar

How do you connect to this subnet?

It will use standard Wireless Fidelity to connect into the city-wide LAN (Tier-1 Metropolitan Network) which connects to the LDRelayNDs (Tier-2) which connects to the other various city-wide LANs (Tier-1). Whole thing is done via WiFi and not wired since hobbiests couldn't did their own fiberoptic lines accross the country.

Imagine you are in your bedroom, right? And you see a network within range. It's "184", ok? Well 184 would be a Relay ND. By connecting to 184 you are now in the LAN and can resolve the various hosts. It may be better to have hidden SSIDs so the curious don't stumble upon our little secret net and ruin it

It has been suggested to me that instead of implement my own protocol I use CJDNS for the proposed mesh network. What are your opinions on CJDNS

Numerous people have advised me that CJDNS is superior so now my goal will to create a Howto Guide as well as a disc image for the Raspberry Pi/Orange Pi/Bannana Pi to install the networking software. If anyone interested in this opposes transfering to CJDNS over my draft protocol please let me know. I've only been working on this entire project for two days and have only heard of CJDNS for the past 45 minutes when it was told that I made a shitty clone of it.

I really do hope to get an actual Metro network working soon and then connect top other metro networks. I think that with the right persuasian we could get groups such as the Daily Stormer Book Clubs to do this. Since I'm a member I expect my own local club to help out with my project so thre's that right there.

802.11 is just really too limited in range to be used exclusively. You would need shitloads of nodes to cover a city, and even then would probably end up with separate pockets that lack interconnections.

Anyway I guess the computer hardware should also be more flexible. Basically any ARM SBC that can run Linux or BSD should do the trick, so long as the networking hardware you plan to use is fully supported by the OS. The rest is just regular Unix stuff, and should work fine in any POSIX environment. Nothing wrong with having a reference implementation, but don't marry your standard to any hardware or OS. It should be flexible and adaptable.

How will routing work? Since your proposal uses a mesh topology and a broadcast medium, you'll have to design it to avoid flooding the network. For example, if A sends a message, B and C can hear it. B and C may not be in range of each other, so neither knows about the other. If B and C then broadcast the message from A, then you have 2 copies of the message traveling through the network and wasting bandwidth. This could continue over each hop, and if there's nothing to prevent it, messages could multiply and loop through the network forever.

Also, by what authority do nodes get assigned a number? How do other nodes in an area know when a message has reached its intended recipient?

actually, ham radio operators have access to useful spectrum for long range stuff and the license lasts 10y. i think there are some restrictions on encryption, but that may be changing.

My computer has broke so any and all development has been put-off. We will most likely be using CJDNS rather than the protocol I drafted. By the time I get my comp fixed/new comp it will most likely be bumped off the board. I am forced to use Windows 10 right now as every public computer in my town runs it. Id like to interject for a moment. What you refer to as CB is actually citizen's band, or as I've recently taken to calling it, chicken band. CB is not the only radio service, but rather another radio service in the allocated spectrum as defined by FCC and ITU regulations.

Many operators use the CB system everyday without realizing it is separate from the amateur service. Through a peculiar turn of events, CB was set apart for use by anyone without a license. Many of its users are not aware that it is basically only used by truckers.

The amateur service does require alicense, which can be obtained by passing an examination. CB radio is actually more restricted. You can not modify your radio, and you have a very low legal power limit. Amateur radio is much freer allowing the use of modes other than telephony, including data and television.the amateur service also spans across multiple bands, from 160 meters past microwave.

This requires a LOT of support from people all across the world all for a micro-imageboard nobody will use, and even if it is achieved how you imagine it, it has very serious technical problems that cannot be surmounted without magic. And in addition, this project is being started from scratch because OP didn't bother looking around for existing solutions. IPFS plus meshnet software (Byzantium, FreedomBox) fills this niche, or at least comes close to it. Engineering 101: Instead of reinventing the wheel, massage existing solutions to reach your goal.

I have returned with a fixed but still slightly broken computer! Now we can resume discussion about making our pet project. Currently visualizing a logo and people still have to comment on CJDNS. My protocol, I now realize, is missing a lot of key information for implementation and CJDNS does what I'm attempting to do (better even. It uses encryption and WoT kinds of things and IPv6/tranditional hostnames) so we will most likely be using CJDNS. Totally unsure if something better than CJDNS even exists. Is there still support for my project though, CJDNS or not?

I didn't want to use traditional TC/IP because I thought that for the protocol I was making this setup where each digit in a 9-section sequence corrosponding to geographical location would simply be better. Furthermore, I thought it would be nice to make it more retro, like the original Apranet. It existed before TC/IP existed. It was neat.

Probably a silly question but could some blockchain style encryption be used? So that the traffic passing through nodes could be encrypted (basically so that if pedofags are sharing shit nose operators don't get v& for something they didn't have anything to do with)

CJDNS implements this, my protocol lacks this but could theoretically be implemented with some kind of DHT service. Pretty much the IRC channel I made is 90% for CJDNS with some people thinking my own protocol just needs more work. Thread has not commented intensively on the CJDNS vs my protocol. This will be the big thing going forward. I do not know what to do, my protocol or a pre-existing one whether it be CJDNS or not.

You should drop it, gambler's fallacy. It's always good to decouple your stuff. CJDNS handles the underlying transport fine, you can plug any type of ghetto meshnet into it as long as it can transport data from point A to point B. Then you can build/run other stuff on top of that. CJDNS exposes an IPv6 interface, so you don't need to modify stuff to run on it. You could use for example IPFS to transport data, and then write an imageboard engine on top of that.
