Yeh, it kinda sucks that things worked out the way they did.
We had a great few years but as the controversies surrounding the administration of this site grew, the userbase shrank. And as the userbase shrank, the board stagnated leading to even more people abandoning us.

Some left to altchans that are even worse than this place, others left imageboards altogether. We're the only ones left now. We are the ones not quite autistic enough to migrate to even worse pastures and who have nothing better going in life than this shithole so have not yet abandoned ship.

Sitting here complaining about it isn't going to make things any better though. Just accept that this is what we have and either try to make the most of it or GTFO like everyone else.


Honestly, how do you even manage that? Even if we stooped as low as possible and began openly shilling this place around, how many would even come? The internet savvy already know we exist. They just have no interest in coming here for the most part. Literally what demographic of people would want to come here that doesn't know of our existence?

Our best chance would be to score the edgy kid demographic and start a raid, but every thread on the topic ends with a whimper. Unless we got some 1337 h4xx0rz still hiding amongst us that can do something big and give Holla Forums the credit for it, we simply do not have the strength in numbers required to do anything that will get coverage.

I also bumped this thread several times (after having realized what bumping actually was in this context a few days prior) before it even dropped off the first page. Surprisingly, people were quite nice. They simply informed me that:
1. "Holla Forums isn't as 'faggy fast' [sic] as Holla Forums. You don't need to bump so much."
2. "you're basically preaching to the choir here. If you want to get some butthurt out of this, though, /sci/ is the place to go.

So then I copy/pasted the thread on /sci/. I got banned immediately following some lively debate about the merits of racism.

I don't really hate it since I fully expected it to turn to shit at some point.

Frankly, it was born out of having no desire whatsoever to learn the culture. You can't just look at the stats one time and know what is going on, you have to look at it over a long period of time to see an actual trend.
