In what way is Buddhism improved by adding Jesus? I mean, as someone who's been influenced by Mahayana, I don't /care/ - throw Jesus in, it doesn't change any of the practices or philosophy. Mahayana Buddhism loves gods, we'll take all the ones you've got. Nobody in the East objects to adding Jesus as a Bodhisattva. But when it comes to the theology of Christianity, I just don't see that it could possibly add anything to Buddhism, and it subtracts an awful lot. Christianity is about eternity and an arrow of time; Buddhism is about continuous transformation and the circle of time. Christianity has Heaven, Earth, and Hell, while Mahayana Buddhism has 36 +/- different planes of reality, it's far more graduated and subtle in measurement.
