The Men in Black tv series is one of the comfiest cartoons I have ever seen.
Not only that, but to my taste, it's actually way better than the movies it's based on. Somehow, despite being a cartoon, it has much more mature humor, better writing, more engaging plots, it is just generally superior.
And, well, I was just interested what does Holla Forums think about it?

The concept works way better for a television series than a movie. The basic setting is powerful enough that you can more or less just do monster of the week and as long as you keep the new challenge interesting the show writes itself.

I'm actually a really big fan of it not the symbiote character

That opening song has a real charm to it.

when I was a kid, I thought it was called "Men and Black"
and I thought "hey! that's kinda racist…"

Now you realize it's just a good porn title.

The MiB cartoon was damn good times. I remember how much I enjoyed all the stuff they did with L, and was actually hoping MiB2 bringing K back would kinda bring the series "into canon" with the movies… but then I find out J flashy-thing'd L and sent her home so the movie could have more dog in it.

You're telling me, user… As someone who loved the first movie and the third. I was way more into the cartoon as not only was the opening sweet. But the plot of every episode was always the bizarre and funny stuff you would expect from the MiB world.

The amount of stuff you could do with this series is awesome. I wish it would come back but then I realize… The world is very pozzed and no production in the MSM is left unscathed by Tumblr taint.

The setting allows for monster of the week with plot development and world building when they feel like it, having some alien races and MIB agents that showed up previously show up again and shit.
It really writes itself, in a good way.

Can't remember anything about it besides the intro.

I only remember one where J's brain kept growing and they had to stop it before it killed him and one where an alien created a link between him and J where whatever happened to one of them happened to the other.

I wish Agents of Shield was like this. Just have Coulson dealing with a monster of the week type of thing in exotic locations. That and Agent May might pop up occasionally.

I think that the way Alpha changed his look in each episode was really cool. He might have not had any character development, but there was nice visual development

What about the one where they all get super powers? Or the one where the Statue of Liberty is a giant Neuralizer. Or the one that taught me human beings are carbon based lifeforms. Oh, the one with the liquefying clones was good too. Hmm, I'm getting some nostalgia now. I need to go find some decent quality downloads.

...

have some lore

iirc they got rid of the actress because she's an insane bitch that nobody wanted to work with

That is pretty damn cool.

I mean the movies are pretty damn good in they're own right and if you can't top them then you might as well try a different approach

First movie was pretty good, but unfortunately rest didn't quite live up to it. When it comes to the reboot, public will expect comedy because that's what previous films were. If new movie is not funny enough, it will be panned by critics and audiences, unless it really is outstanding.

First was the best. Third got there but not enough
Second was ok at best..

The comic books are probably too dark for Hollywood. They made Men in Black into a family franchise and they're not going to risk putting that in jeopardy by making a dark, R-rated reboot. R-rated films, with the exception of Deadpool, don't do good business. Not like family films, anyway.

Although, given their collective asshurt over the FBI's investigation of Korrupt Killary Klinton, they might be open to doing a film about a shadowy government organisation's attempt to shape and control the nation.

indeed that was a shame.

Also the L in the cartoons was pretty cool but then in the last season they made her a slapstick character because her Voice Actress (kes from voyager?) went insane to and they canned her.

L is cursed.

Her dream episodes was pretty bad ass in the cartoon and I loved how when K had some personal shit going on and the MIB fixed it. The old guy flashy flashed J out o f respect for K's privacy.

I really enjoyed teh cartoon. Shame the dvd release is only one season.
