On one hand, absolutely; anything that isn't necessary is an indulgence, and the more you indulge the less time you spend improving yourself. Read a book, learn some first aid, memorize some songs you can sing or hum, get to know how to identify personality types and how to handle them. Living a spartan lifestyle is ideal to the benefit of the self and society.
On the other hand, not outlaw, per ce, but we shouldn't make people feel like their fetish should be a publicly accepted thing. Homosexuality isn't a lifestyle, it's just a god damn kink, and if they can't keep their desires in their fucking pants, then they deserve to be shunned by society. Same goes for pedos, horsefuckers, and people who like to piss on each other; if they like to do it, that's fine for them, but it's not normal, it's not healthy, and it sure as fuck shouldn't be public.
Furthermore, i understand that people need to unwind sometimes and being imperfect helps with that, but over-indulgence is very much a bad thing, such as over-eating; can you honestly tell me that being fat is a good thing, or should even be acceptable? Being drunk, being drugged up, being poorly dressed, unkempt hair, largely unwashed, with poor annunciation? We've become a society of indulgence and tolerance to the same such, this is why it's all going to hell, and there's no way back because you can't turn an old tree into a young one again; the only thing you can do is chop the old one down and plant a new one in it's place. The best you can suggest is to indulge anyway because we're all fucked anyhow, unless, of course, people buy self-sustaining property somewhere, maybe another country, and get out before the eventual crash hits.
tl;dr: pleasure seeking is ultimately a bad thing as it leads to low standards and abilities
ps im also a fat lazy glob of shit so this is definitely a case of 'do as i say' but that doesnt make my statements any less true
