Youtube embeds are even worse. They pull your info if you are on this site watching them. All of this of course is antithetical to the stated purpose of 8ch, which is anonymity and privacy rights, and ultimately that is a big reason that people have abandoned Holla Forums…especially when it was revealed that Jim was IP logging. As for the purpose of Holla Forums I don't believe hotwheels was stupid enough to think clearnet anonymity still exists and instead created this site as somewhere that allowed content up to the limit of the law. This is no small thing as I can't think of any site that allows the posting of any content that isn't illegal is the hosts nation.
If you want to test this take some caps of a "too obscure for Holla Forums" movie and post them anywhere on the clearnet and see what happens. Sure there will be some movie forums and art sites that will allow it but they will not allow hardcore porn which is also legal.

As for people leaving I won't pretend to know their motives as it's clear I'm an outlier that has put up with the multiple times the new management has crushed liberty on this site only to reinstate it a couple of months later.
