WE WANT YOUR SOUL
Good song. Even my mother remembers that shitty Cola song.

Anyway, I gotchu fam.

Is it just some kind of unspoken rule that social commentary in music has to sound like garbage half the time?

A nice voice could convince you to buy yourself a jump off a bridge.

Not really about consumerism but vid related highlights the cultural, moral and racial decline of the west in a short well made video. It may not be about consumerism but these things are all interwoven tbh.

Oh, thanks mate.

...

I can't help but find this pretty funny in retrospect.

...

No need to thank me. It's what I do. Pic related.

It's cheaper to dump your trash off coast than it is to recycle apparently.

Are you telling me that bands release specific songs to the public to trick them into buying into false expectations of the album?

They released two other singles from that album but no one gave a shit about them, they were straight political songs. Don't blame them, blame radio/music television.

Lol, nah I'm not blaming the artists. I'll be honest though, I've once considered listening to that album. I used to love the shit out of that song and I don't even remember where or when I heard it first.

Fuck money

I'm not sure what is meant by consumerism. that people buy things from other people? is this supposed to be bad?

It's babbys first purple pill.

Consumerism is basically corporation-funded hedonism.

how so?

The things you own end up owning you.And if you aren't buying then you're saving to buy later, and if you aren't saving to buy later, you're either a loser/unemployed/communist/etc./destroying your country/you name it.

no one is forced to buy anything. you could live in the wild and forage your food if you wanted to. however, the vast majority of people find it preferable to trade with others.

What said. It's a situational culture propped up by corporations that convinces people they need to buy in excess of what they actually need. Corporate-funded hedonism. Emotional and even chemical manipulation, an eternal pavlov's bell scenario where everyone ends up stupid, fat and poor.

how is it funded by corporations? do they pay people to buy their products?

It's not not acheived through force. It's about ease of acquiring, marketing, pattern recognition, and chemical dependency. Nobody forces a person to buy a McDonald's hamburger. But McDonald's does push marketing of smiling attractive or otherwise approachable people chowing down next to mascots, promising cheap warm food in a clean environment despite their food being pumped full of sugar/salt/addictive substances.

Although, yes, they also do pay for positive reviews and what is usually played off as random public support. Like when, I think, Burger King made a fag burger for faggots and they had a commercial that was suppose to be random people voicing their support and amazement that Burger King was so progressive and delicious or whatever other bullshit. It's all fake.

you don't say?

Right, but it isn't trading. It's massive amounts of garbage and obsolete soon to be outdated tools and services that people are pressured into buying through strategic marketing. It's strategic marketing and a vast understanding of economical supply and demand.

Like says, when you see a model chowing on food, smoking, or driving a fancy car. When you see Kim Kardashian taking a pill or wearing a girdle and people want to be like her. When you hear a catchy tune on an advertisement and every time you hear that song you could be thinking about that product, that's why people and bands are paid a god damn lot of money to promote a product through their appearance or music, etc.

From drugs and sex to appliances and mechanics, people create something they think will sell to a public with extra money they intend to spend. Impulse buying and addiction isn't a myth. People buy things they don't need, and like certain insurance, find themselves forced to pay for these things by law. It's consumerism.

It's almost like you didn't read the majority of anything posted so you can be a lazy cunt. Sorry I thought you wanted a discussion.

how not? you exchange money for goods and services, and exchange your labor for money. that is trading.

yes, sometimes they buy things they want even though those things aren't necessary for living. I don't see anything wrong with this.

I also don't think advertising is some sort of magical brainwashing that cannot be ignored. I guess that's the main difference between us.

Are you kidding? You're joking yeah? Are you trying to troll me? If you are I want you to know you couldn't make me as mad as the advertisements themselves. You can't ignore advertisements. There's one at the top and bottom of every fullchan page, and every single page on every page of every popular site. Where you drive on the streets, on the radio on your way to work or school, before movies you watch on DVD or Blu-ray, between songs on Youtube video albums, even before and after videos, in your magazines, they even put advertisements once on the backs of books and in CD tracks themselves. Plastered on walls and plastered all over television on every channel. Around every fucking corner you're being offered something for sale. It's not a sale, it's inflation masked as a deal. And people want the getting while it's good.

I'm not saying you're wrong about the trading. Semantics of course. I just believe that trading is strictly between items and services. Not a piece of money that signifies value towards something else. There have been more than a few historic counterparts to the idea of money, like pieces of paper with the name of an item on them for what that paper could be used to buy, but they all costed gold or silver to obtain. You don't get money without selling items or services in the first place (unless you're on welfare). And if the economy were to collapse? Money was created by people who know how to abuse it and the people.

Money being used to buy something like land requires a bunch of legal services and paper work being filed that requires extra paper money to solidify the deal, even after money has been paid for the item being bought or sold.

Trading is strictly one commodity for another commodity, with a few signatures maybe and a shake of the hands. You have something I want and I have something you want. let's trade.
Fucking hard to explain and understand, truly.

But with more money you can buy more stuff, right? Well, that depends on whoever is selling what you're buying. And you need what we're selling.

You will buy. You're already pressured into getting a well paying job some day that lets you do what you want or buy the things you want. You'll go to college, get a job, meet a person and want to have sex, and you'll need a place to live and fuck when you get a job and meet that person, and you'll need to make repairs on that car. And you'll want to have kids and pass on what you've learned. You're going to get hungry and thirsty quite a lot between now and then. And you'll gain or lose weight trying to look a certain way. And you will have to stay clean. And you will have to have to do something about your health and ultimately, dead body.

One last thing before this thread drowns.

You're brainwashed into disbelieving the fact that you have a choice. You're being sold a variety of the same shit you MUST have someday in your life, either by law or by some social or personal pressure. Don't bullshit yourself. The difference between us is that you think you have a choice and I can see that, and you believe I have a choice like the rest of us and you can see that I don't believe you. I wish I could believe you. And I'm trying to believe you. I'm trying to make the choice for myself.

You (nobodytm)

same.

Is it made by a jew?

Great video.

Earlier this year (2012), North Korea released a film titled "Propaganda". We are brainwashed by our overmasters to have certain perception of North Korea so naturally, you may assume from the title that it's a propaganda piece about the glorious nation. It is not. What the film does is describe how propaganda is abused outside of North Korea and how the lot of us who live in the vest are victims of it. It's kind of scary how it takes the most isolated country in the world to break our society down to the most inconvenient detail and remain bang on.

In simple terms, Propaganda is a film that lays down what we all know, but are afraid to admit. It is a film about how minds of the lot of us who live in what we are told is the "free world" are manipulated into dancing to the song our great leaders have chosen for us. It is a film which says it like it is and does it so directly, that unless you have removed the rose colored shades from your nose, you will become defensive.

None of us knows what North Korea is really like. As such, all we know about North Korea is what our great leaders tell us. Or what traitors who deserted their home land feed us with to feed their own pockets with manipulated sympathy. The amount of shit they're full of only compares to the amount of shit Sunni murderers who escaped prosecution for crimes against humanity by getting asylum in western countries overflow with, or the amount of utter shit piece of shit Cubans who have nothing good to say about their country stink of.

The Propaganda film gets it right by calling the western sheep "consumers" for this is precisely who they are. The film also gets it right by calling the western sheep "compliant slaves" for this is also precisely who they are. Wanna know how much of a sheep you are? Watch the video and see how it makes you feel
