This was a good one.
Also Caesars III and the Pharaoh games (I think Cleopatra was the best one, with the expansions) were cool, they were kind of like Sims egypt/rome but you also had to appeal to the gods.
This is my sleeper pick, it's more combat oriented but building stuff was still really fun. The monsters you could get if you build the right stuff was outrageous.
