Buyer's remorse ---Tech edition---

yesterday, i bought a brand new iPhone 5s for 240 Euro bucks.
after 7 years of using an old Nokia E71.
i can definitely feel the difference, but i can't help thinking that its too fucking expensive and i may have wasted my money

Depends if you value your privacy or not. Plus isn't the 5s like 3yrs old? How'd u get a new one? Do they still sell them in Afghanistan?

i really do, thats the most important reason why i went for iPhone instead of android
not sure about Afghanistan but a local store still had 2 left.
can confirm they're 100% new.

250 for an iPhone 5 is cheap ya nigger

...

have something to say?

Welcome to every day of my life. I could be buying life-saving meds and I'd still think "maybe if I waited a bit, or maybe there was a cheaper alternative".

After buying my i7 980x for $1000+ in 2010, It's still buttfucking modern mid-range processors seven years later... so I have remorse for all other buyers of processors who didn't jump on the 980x train. Fags.
building again soon once I stop being lazy

Curious, how did your iphone offer you privacy?

have you tried using it for porn yet?
That may help with your remorse.

until you try to watch a webm

I just bought a 2015 phone for $80 that is better in specs to the iPhone 5s. You fucked up big time.

Pebble Steel. Smartwatches seemed like a neat idea at the time, so I ordered one. It didn't work correctly, and would bug up and turn off every now and again. Mine might have been defective, but it wasn't the nicest introduction to smartwatches. I returned it in the end, but I spent a long time trying to justify it.
I gained a lot of respect for my Casio at least.

...

As long as you don't get your porn from here it shouldn't be a problem.

You retarded, son? Apple, like Google, is part of PRISM.

i was thinking about haxor fags.
i know we're all being watched, the feds aren't likely to steal my banking details to buy dragon dildos and animu figurines

they don't even actually.
i'v read allot of benchs marks and game test. the 3 year old iPhone 5s still fuck 99% of phones currently available. and i'm not even taking game optimizations into account.
most games are specifically optimized for it.
i doubt your $80 turd story.

Go back to /g/

You'll get used to it. Touch ID sensor is great, 1adblocker and Free RSS Reader (from some Pajeet) are your friends and the phone is fast and responsive as long as you don't upgrade to iOS 10, Poz Edition

It's expensive but you get more value for money than the typical android "better root this piece of shit- 9001hrs on xda developers" phone.

I fell for it even worse in that I bought the expensive Time Steel before I found an apple watch at a good price used.

Basically useless, most of the wanted functionalities were from often broken 3rd party apps, no consistency in calendar and notifications sync, and all the good apps started to become paid (worked fine free, suddenly auto update and it becomes shareware... 3day trials, that kind of shit.)

Sold it after getting used to the apple watch (not great, but does what I want it to and inexplicably gives me geek cred at work). Amazingly, Pebble went out of business not 10 days after the buyer received it.

I did find a Pebble Steel for 40 bucks though, I use it when out drinking, it has taken a lot of abuse so far, plus I can put Hitler on the watchface.

And with the apple watch I can get dubs, trips and quads multiple times a day (fucking autist, i know, imageboards have ruined me)

I'm going to be a brat, I can't help but be honest, I don't know if it counts for this thread though. Last Christmas someone got me a tablet, it's not really bad but I have 0 use for it, it mostly just sits in my desk. This year the same person got me a fitbit, at work I sit at a desk all day, at home I sit at a desk all day, I don't have much use for it and it requires you to sign up with their service which records your name and everything the device knows about you like when you sleep, it creeps me out a bit.

Obviously I don't regret getting a gift but the whole thing feels bad, I get something I can't use and they spent money on it. Either way I don't recommend getting either device unless you really have a need for them.

Tablets have a few neat uses. Get a stand for it and have it on your desk, so you can keep track of things without using desktop screen space. I used to use a Blackberry Playbook as a music player and radio like that.

Same, makes for a nice weather/stock/email/twitter terminal too

Wouldn't it have been a better idea to get a Nexus 5X and flash CopperheadOS on it?

It has more support time left and is essentially a hardened, aosp and stable os without any Google code baked in.

I think you're justified for having remorse.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Good luck with that.
It'll download the update anyway, thereby chewing all your connection.
And if you only once accidentally hit wrong button, there's no way to cancel/rollback "update".
Basically, you don't own the device, you are merely a user of it.

Even simply using Nexus 5X as-is is better than using a fucking iThing.
Of course, when Copperhead gets stable etc, there's added benefit in having that option too.
The very design of these phones (unlockable bootloader) guarantees that you do not lose the freedom to install anything on it.

"security" without freedom is just impossible, when you are forced to eat whatever shit Apple feeds you with, this "security" just means defense of the iThing from you.

why not libre you retarded sandnigger ubuntu.com/mobile

gee, i don't know...

Enjoy your wakelocks while your phone literally records everything so it can send it to Google.

bump

I bought a graphics card.
I realised that I should have just get a processor with integrated graphics because my need are small.

Care to post a proof-link?

I regret buying anything tech related. It's all proprietary crap.

That last one, I don't so much REGRET, as I just don't really have any use for it at the moment. I hope to rectify that with some homemade gadgets down the road though.

Other than that, I think the other items clearly demonstrate my lack of good purchasing judgment.

best goy

i am like 99% sure the only reason to get these is hyper-v

Tablets are nice as comic book readers, if nothing else. A cheap 8" android with a microSD card loaded with torrented comics/manga goes in my bag when I travel.

redpill me on hyper-v

The only worthwhile tablets for comic reading are 1080p tablets and those go for 200 at minimum, with that much money you can get a faster 1080p laptop that you can actually fuck with

It's not just about money. It's about size and weight. An 8" android tablet takes up almost no space and uses the same charger as my phone, and if I'm traveling I'm already packing a little laptop in my backpack.

more features, streamlined architecture, optimized for windows guests, better performance

Paid almost $200 for a Thinkpad T410 (8gb RAM but standard features otherwise) because I was too impatient to wait for a T420.

probably to sell the items individually (it came with docking station and charger)

I bought software.

what software?
