Rise of the unnecessariat

This is probably the most depressing article I've read in a long time

Zizek has been talking about this as well, but it's great to find an article by someone who experiences it on a daily basis.

...

Not even the MSM used that against him because they knew that he'd said the opposite too many times for it not to have been a slip-up.

I don't live in the Mid-West like the author. But my ex-girlfriend's bestie's boyfriend committed suicide via overdose and he was about my age. In his early 30s.

No one gives a shit about us white lumpens. The Democrats/Liberals take us for granted because they know that voting Republican/Conservative would be retarded on our part. So they don't have to work for our vote. So the white lumpens have said "fuck it" and started voting Republican/Conservative. If they even vote at all.

Maybe I didn't get the gist of what the author said re: Trump but from my understanding she felt tempted to vote Trump as a big fuck you to Hillary Clinton. Because she knows that Hillary Clinton doesn't give a shit about us. I get the sense that this is the reason why white lumpens have been backing Trump.

Also Trump is promising that he's going to get our jobs back and be the greatest jobs president in American history. So there's that too. But I know that just isn't going to happen. It's not like jobs are automatically going to be created if you cut taxes. Demand is what drives jobs, not supply. Giving money to the poor directly for them to spend would create far, far more jobs than tax cuts.

Do you know the context in which it was said?

Why would they? From their perspective all whites are as muh privileged as they are, therefore any white person that mentions anything about white problems is just a whiny loser who doesn't know the struggles that womyn, people of colour, and LGBT individuals face every day

You would think that Fox News would at least rip on Bernie Sanders for saying that. Republicans and lolbertarians love to take the piss out of Bernie Sanders.

Because they want to tear Bernie down?
Not even FOX ran with it, and they're nobody's liberals.

The context was a debate. I saw it. What he meant was that white people don't know the concrete experience of the social isolation that is found within impoverished black ghettoes.
The has said the opposite several times in the past; anything else would have been dumb, since a majority of his voters are white working-class people.

Hell, he even rejected the notion of reperations because he said all working-class people were in it together or something like that.

Kek, they really are desperate. The part they're empahsizing is clearly an off-hand remark, inbetween two statements that are clearly true (that white people don't live in ghettos and aren't profiled by the police).

Even so, he's said the opposite many times before and a few times after, so quote-mining an unreheared statement at a live debate like this is dishonest at best.

...

pls kill yourself. Just because cracker ghettos aren't exactly like the projects you assume their living standards are better?

I'd much rather live in Appalachia than a BBC ghetto. That's for sure.

The worst you have to worry about is getting robbed by white meth heads (who steal shit so that they can pawn it off and get cash for drugs). But they are not as violent as niggers.

White people don't live in ghettos, they live in slums.
"Ghetto" has the connotation of an ehtnic group being isolated in a poor urban environment.
And no, nobody's saying their living standards are better. The experience and social alienation is just not entirely the same. The question was specifically on race, so he answered specificially in terms of racial alienation.

...

TLDR; Accelerationism

...

Right-wing populism will solve all these problems.

...

...

Make one persuasive argument. Make one argument. Make one statement that isn't full of spooky racial tribalism.

That's not a ghetto dumbass

Tribalism of one sort or another is going to be necessary. we can trade the racial angle for a civic nationalist angle, but at the end of the day we're going to need an us vs them dichotomy if you want to accomplish anything substantial.

If Trump went full fascist (he won't because he's a Jew puppet) we could have another New Deal program where we rebuild our shitty fucking infrastructure while employing a ton of people. Regardless, his autarkic protectionist propositions (assuming he follows through on them) will put the country in a better position employment-wise.

Saunders is basically an Obama-tier advocate of the Nordic model, the adoption of which isn't going to result in long-term structural change.

No why? What about appealing to personal self-interest? That has worked pretty good in the pasy.

No, Hillary is the Obama-candidate.
Sanders also supports cooperatives and ending citizens united. That'll change a whole lot of stuff.

Yes, I'm sure this statement–a proven gaffe that contradicts all other information about him–is why people don't support Sanders.

Not the accusations that he is literally a Stalinist, the DNC's shameless backstabbing, pro-Clinton media bias, postmodernist cultists publicly trying to beat him into compliance with neoliberal hegemony or the endless cuck memeing by bitter virgins on /r/The_Donald that gets shitposted on social media at literally all times because they have nothing better to do.

A ghetto by definition needs to be populated with national minorities. Technically this expands beyond ethnic minorities, but this is usually the context; religious ghettos also exist but only when de jure discrimination exists because religion isn't based on birth traits.

Like user said, Sanders doesn't even support idpol bullshit like reparations: theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/01/bernie-sanders-reparations/424602/

The reason that quote is posted everywhere is because American politics are so divisive that they have become part of identity in its culture: people literally cannot handle different opinions without some sort of emotional distress. So people force themselves to avoid thinking about things they know would change their minds because they want to avoid discomfort that makes daily life more difficult. They wait for that one convenient confirmation to be shared (in this case the ghetto gaffe) so they have an excuse to maintain this behavior instead of feeling guilty for shirking truth for personal reasons. Everyone is guilty of this, of course, including liberal idiots that prefer Sanders.

In comparison, what Clinton and Trump say has virtually no bearing on their popularity because nobody supports them for their views or platform. They are immune to criticism. One of them is a fucking crook, but their sheer usefulness for maintaining the status quo makes this irrelevant.

That said, Sanders is mainly useful insofar as a way to move the Overton window so his fuck up isn't exactly devastating. It'd be foolish to get high hopes about an election, to say the least.

This right here is why I've embraced the anarcho-communist perspective. Because I don't see any way to humanely address the large populations of structurally unnecessary low-skill workers, either under capitalism or socialism, in the face of massive automation. I'd prefer that communities like these be organized into confederated communes, focused on subsistence agriculture and cottage industry, to give people purpose and decent life, while building a cooperative economy minimally connected to the wider capitalist system.
It's a rough and idealistic plan, but it's the only thing I can come up with beyond "letting them die" like an asshole, or just throwing half the planet on welfare and hoping for the best.

...

Flyover proles need U-Haul. Accept it.

The author was spot on. At this point we're basically living in a Godspeed You Black Emperor song.

Communism IS socialist so you've just taken up a socialist alternative to capitalism rather than an alternative to both. Socialism doesn't need everyone to work full time to be provided so less work for more people simply means less work hours while still being living comfortably.

Is your pic from a movie? If yes, how's it called? Looks interesting.

In general: I have no idea about Appalachia I'm a eurofag, is this were the incestuous hilly-billys come from? were can I get good information?

watch the movie deliverance

It's just a stereotype. It's like saying New Zealanders fuck sheep.

There's tons of other little documentaries about Appalachia if you're interested.

Not Deliverance like this user said, those are Hollywood hillbillies.
