You also get the advantange of a drawn out count that keeps up interest in politics, and informs people as to differences in political results/opinions across constituencies.

Audits help with connecting people to money use. It helps us see abnormalities and trace the rabbit hole to the source.
Problem is who does the auditing. I bet they have many connections to the people that audit government spending and income.
I think the best use is seeing the effects of policies on the income/spending and working out why it affected the revenue/debts the government obtained.
In particular, it would help with knuckling down on expenditure with regards to derivatives. If there is a ponzi scheme occurring involving tax dollars - we will find the evidence.
The evidence is the crucial part. You need a degree of evidence to satisfy legal precedents in a court of law. Audits are not only direct evidence of certain activities, it's strong evidence. That's important.
If we have strong evidence that shows money flow that is inconsistent with proper governmental activity, we have strong evidence to convict perpetrators. Lastly - we can find names to connect to actions. Combine that with the evidence in emails - you've got yourself a strong case.
I think the biggest issue is the legality of using these emails as evidence. I bet the emails will be illegal evidence.
So an audit will give us a non-illegal way of cracking (((them down))). I hope we have good judges though… we won't though, I can guarantee that, so we need even more evidence and perhaps greater publicity of the emails what is seen cannot be unseen
