Making a search engine would be relatively easy. Making one that isn't complete dogshit is a different matter. There's a reason why competition in this field is so narrow.

I've given up on search engine autism and the only privacy related measures that I take are:

Don't use same search engine all the time
Don't use accounts

I use Google DDG and Bing most of the time. Lots of others if I'm digging though. Exalead is not good as a general use search engine but I've had some amazing results when really digging for hard to find info on people in the past.

I hate to be the guy who defends (((Google))), but you have to admit, when you start typing "Why are white people…" in a search engine, you're acting like a nigger who just got upset by something a white person said or did, and ran to the Internet in search for answers. White people themselves never feel the need to ask Google "Why are white people X" (except for people like us who might search for "why are white people superior", which you can actually see as the fourth suggested query in your screenshot).

I don't think they even need to tweak the ranking of the suggestions in order to get "muh racist white ppl" to the top. Now that everyone's got Google in their pockets, every dumb nigger can query that shit.

It's a meta-search engine. You send it a query, it queries other search engines (you can chose which) and it sends you back the joint results.

It is open source and anybody can run it if you don't trust them with your search terms.

I have it configured to use Google because the results are far better than any other, but the good thing is that, by using all the other search engines too, you make their services better, so they have better chances of competing with Google.

It means google already knows what to serve back to you based upon the information it knows about you. For example, you type auto and it's already getting ready to return to you auto stores that are nearby where you live. Back in the day the results were contextual to the term you enter, now the driving factor is the term in context to YOU.

Qwant is the best, because it doesn't use other indexes (ixQuick), and it has it's own web-crawler. It's a legitimate, French attempt to create deadly competition for Google. Because it's not a meta search engine (searx.me), it's actually very fast.

I use duckduckgo.com - they don't track you. Either way you should always use a vpn, or something to mask your real IP. I don't use Chrome either anymore. I would recommend firefox or Opera which is similar (very similar to chrome with a much cleaner user interface experience). I haven't trusted the kikes at Google since the Snowden leak.

I've been using Google since 1999 and I rarely use it anymore. Bing is every bit as much of a revelation now as Google was back then - nothing else compares.

Bing still has a bad rap because it used to be terrible. Their newer algorithm is the best out there and their index has grown massively over the past two years.

The last time I needed to go back to Google was a few days ago. Bing didn't have good FTP indexes and I needed some pirated Cisco IOS images. I didn't use them for six months prior to that.

The amount of time I spend WITHIN the search results in Bing is about how Google was up until 2002.

Which is the best browser for Wangblows users? I've been using Chrome for years and want to change. I also have Firefox as a backup but it just doesn't feel right to me, never has.

I read good things about CyanogenMod, but I read it was shut down by legal threats. Not sure what firmwares are out there today.
