They're all over cities up and down the east coast. The tiles are made with layers of cut linoleum stuck together with tar. You wrap it with tar paper then place it somewhere where cars will run over it a lot, and where it will be read crosswalks.

Many printers will print a pattern of faint yellow dots that identifies the printer by serial number. Real advanced-grade kikery, so that's something to consider.

Just ordinary adhesive stickers from the stationary isle at ASDA.. They were 50p for 50,but heyve gone up a few extra pence ,but you can just overlap the edges to make massive ones.

At least in America, some gas stations or 7/11s have photocopiers you can use for a quarter a page or so. You could make draw a page by hand with sharpie, then make copies of it that way.

If you go that route, I'd suggest waiting a week or so between when you photocopy it and when you post the pages around town. Those places typically don't keep their security tapes around for long.

I have no idea if those photocopiers store a copy of everything that goes through them, or if they watermark.

I've never done it, but there seems to be a sort of cult-following of them. Some people even made a documentary about the tiles.
