If we take your theory of the soul, it would be more accurate to classify rap in the same category as bardic music, as both are performances of a single person. The counterpoint to that would be classical music in comparison to a mass tribal drumming complete with chanting and primitive fires.

Now, in either category, it is clear to see that there is supremacy on the side of European music.
