The big-budget franchise comedy opened to an estimated $46 million in North America, a problematic start for a movie with a net production budget of $144 million.
"We are ecstatic with this opening. We have successfully restarted an important brand," Josh Greenstein, president of worldwide marketing and distribution, told The Hollywood Reporter.

$144 million is the production cost alone. When you include estimated release costs the total budget is ~$300 million to ~$400 million. Don't forget that they do not get 100% of the box office. They need to make $500 million to please investors according to Paul Feig.
So unless this movie gets a GoFundMe page there is almost no chance of the movie hitting $500 million, I'd even say getting above $375 million is a long shot.
Don't forget this movie will not be going to China.
