That's one of the problems with crowd funded projects, especially from up and comers, is that they feel so indebted to their backers that they start to change shit to please them. I can see that being pretty frustrating to backers who liked the creators original vision and chipped in to see that.

I like the idea of the show because I like westerns and folklore, but it's a big red warning sign when they start making unnecessary compromises.

Even if it does get picked up, unless they manage to get a good writing team that isn't (negatively) pressured by the current political and social climate (which is highly unlikely these days), it'll just be another forgettable mediocre cartoon only remembered for its fap material.

I get the change from Buffalo Wing to simply BW to appease certain "fans", but they should've been more creative with that. Remember when Joe Murray was pressured by Nick execs to create another female character for Rocko's Modern Life to "give a hook" to female audiences? He gave us Dr. Hutchinson, a crazy cat lady with an actual hook for a hand. They should've made the name change into a running gag where other characters try to guess what it stands for and BW keeps getting mad at them, like Buffalo Wing, Black Water, Big Wallops, Banana Wama, etc.

I would've preferred "Chicken Wing" quite frankly.

To be fair, quite a few shows that have survived to the end, and even been enjoyed by people who aren't complete autists/tumblrinas, have done the same self-insert shit. GF, SU and several others I can't remember too well because I'm an idiot have done the same thing, doesn't necessarily affect quality. Plenty of other bad signs to watch out for more intently, like the involvement of kikestarter. Although, GF had serious problems with Mabel being a Mary Sue who's immune to consequences, and SU is basically about a cartoon version of Rebecca Sugar's little brother dating her own race-bent self insert little girl character, which is emphasized to the point of them fusing into one fucked-up sexually-ambiguous being. So, maybe it is a bad sign after all.

Yeah, that's pretty shit if that's why it was changed, unless of course it ends up being a bait-and-switch running gag, where even more "offensive"/plain funnier shit gets substituted for her actual name so long as it matches the initials.
