A few days ago, before the purge, I made a thread where I confessed to my newest form of masochism - watching Supergirl.
I didn't feel the need to comment on it or ask for your emotional support until today.
Today I watched the episode where Red Tornado is activated.
OH MY GOD, THIS IS THE GREATEST SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN
I am getting incredible enjoyment out of it, now that I have completely stopped caring, and only expect the worst
Though I can never reach the level of not giving a fuck of the actual creators of this show. This shit is transcendental.
I'm expecting a horned dog with a mane playing an alien creature to appear any moment now

What are you talking about, he looks FABULOUS!

Is Supergirl on any of the streaming services yet? I kinda want to partake in the pain, at the very least to see how much the show changes when it goes to the CW.

Ah, yes. The robot man Red Tornado. I see he's gotten some… dermal upgrades to his facial region.

you mean they painted his face red to copy the vision.

Im curious what you think when the Martian Manhunter shows up.

The funny thing is - it's not like he even needs emotive face. For the entirety of his episode he is a silent killer robot. No dialogue, no expression.
And then he dies.
They could have put a plastic mask on him, and it would be a bit less awful

isn't red tornado supposed to be a superhero though?

Pick one

maybe martian manhunter? He's one of the few characters I like on this show. Then again I just really want to see a live action Martian Manhunter since the DC movies wont do it.

To be perfectly honest, supergirl isn't that bad. Its got shit episodes, but on average its better than Shield, and Arrow. It did some cool stuff, like the whole Hank Henshaw switcheroo, and the Bizzaro fight.

I think the idea here is that he is suppose to come back a hero, whenever he gets reprogrammed.

There are teenaged cosplays working with cardboard that can make better armor than that.. What the fuck, man?

Wow. That's literally Vision.

I suppose they don't think anyone can take a tinpot robot seriously.

No no no, you see, Vision had enough glossy, shiny make up and CGI filtering that is you just tried hard enough, you could believe that his face was plastic. At the very least it was consistent with the looks of the rest of the head.
Also, his actor was actually able to pull off the stoic expressionless look not sure if intentionally, or just a truly fake actor.

Please tell me they don't ruin MM too.

Supergirl comes out on netflix next month

Nah, J'onn was pretty badass. Kind of like Samuel L. Jackson Nick Fury. With a bit of the Worf effect, but he doesn't get punked as much as Worf.

I like how they got Dean Cain and Helen Slater to play Supergirl's human parents.

And, hey, The Devil Wears Prada isn't the worst approach to take for a Supergirl series. Ally McBeal steals every scene she's in, gets all the best lines, and Silver Banshee and Livewire team up! I may have squee'd at that point.

He looks like Cell.

I saw the thumbnail in the catalog and thought "Hey! That looks alright!".

WEW

They really should have went with pic related. Is the fight choreography still shit?

is she getting pounded by jimmy's colossal mandingo dong yet

no not yet. They have a weird romance pentagon going on instead.

Love pentagon? Really? That doesn't sound like something they can pull off efficiently.

...

It isn't. Imagine the romance in season 1 Legend of Korra, now imagine that 10 times worse.

there any porn of these two?

thats sumsup what happened to 4/co/

Are we repeating the plate?

No, we left 4chan because certain thinking was considered "off limits". It didn't matter what those thoughts were, they just happened to be GamerGate. The mere fact that 4chan, which was supposed to be a bastion of free speech, had a LIMIT (besides obvious legal ones), rendered it a useless platform.

...

I wonder if this Jimmy ever wears drag.

I don't think he knew what most of the words in his post mean.

Bootleg Lex Luthor I mean, Max Luthor, I MEAN Maxwell Luthord is a pretty decent villain, though.
Certainly better than crazy aunt.

Personally, I came here for webms.
Yeah, that was the final straw for me. Well, that and there had never really been a competitor to 4chan before. Perhaps one of the dead chans has imageboard technology the likes we've never seen. Who knows?

I honestly don't remember why I came here, but multi-file uploads definitely got my attention.
I would have probably went back to 4chan before, but the awful moderation got me every time.
I remember one time I had to go there to find news about one show, and saw a thread on the first page of Holla Forums about how BTAS is the single greatest animated series of all time
I went in, and responded that while I don't hate BTAS, I think it's overpraised. Nothing aggressive, just a light negative commentary
The post got deleted and I was banned for "baiting and attempting to start shit"

It's not Jimmy if he won't put on a skirt from time to time.

Saying something is "overpraised/overrated" is the single most vapid thing you could say about anything. It offers no real opinion, and used by people who want to feel superior just for having a differing opinion
If you pull that shit here and waste posts on nonopinions like that, I hope you get banned

Calm down batfag

Offers as much insight as saying that something is the ultimate thing, while also not providing any explanation for why you think so
And don't you dare tell me that BTAS lover threads are not exactly this

If you're feeling people aren't being insightful enough, don't throw an equally uninsightful opinion into the ring. At least explain your problem with something.

OP was able to convey a lot of his problems with Supergirl, for example, with that one picture.

I remember a website that had more of these pics.

tgfa.org/comics/jimmy_olsen/jimmy_olsen.htm

When I was a kid I had the story where he's a mobster's moll, playing baseball on stage, and he makes the mob boss kiss the chimp…

I remember this website now. Thanks user. Kinda wish they'd do more lewd stuff of Jimmy Olsen crossdressing.

Jimmy's crossdressing is not for the lewd! It is only for getting the scoop. And petty revenge. Honestly, it's mostly for getting cheap sucker punches in on people who annoyed him.

wtf I wanna fuck Jimmy Olsen now

like he pulls his wig off halfway thru the bj and he's like "lol you're a fag Mr. White, that's right a dude sucked your cock you homo"

Panel 3 is a natural reaction macro.
So much opportunity to use it, lol.

This makes me want to trap just so I can know what it's like to be able to violently overreact with social impunity.

But what if you do it to the wrong people, and they violently sexually assault you, one after another?

But what if that was my plan ALL ALONG?
#MILLARNEMESIS

you want to be a trap that violently gets fucked in the ass?

I don't believe you planned it out 10 years in advance… a true MASTERMIND.

Put a horseshoe in your purse for extra fun.

Halloween's right around the corner user; all your bases will be covered

...

Legends of Tomorrow is worse. The pilot episode dialogue was downright embarrassing. Exactly the kind of shit people would watch who only know comics from the Big Bang Theory cast's t-shirts.

I couldn't take Supergirl after the second or third episode where black controller says something along the line of "You know, I wasn't sure you'd be able to take this because…."
And then Supergirl chimes in "Because I'm a woman? Well, blah blah feminism blah."
And he replies "I was going to say because you're an alien."

Did it get better past that point?

No

Why isn't there a superhero show done not from the vantage point of the hero but from the perspective of other people in the world?
A series of short stories where the hero appears at key points to affect the plot or not and vanish. A sort of monster-of-the-week with different narrators every week where the hero is the monster, but taken as a whole the episodes could piece together a tapestry of the hero's meta-plot.
In print so much is still left to the imagination, I feel that having an overwhelmingly powerful being be the protagonist lessens their potential impact… these are godlike beings, wouldn't it be more fun to treat them like a disaster event than an angsty teen or young adult?

Oh god.
I was actually kind of excited for, LoT, after I heard that it has Vandal Savage as one of the villains.
Tell me how bad is it, user.

That would be too new and different for a cape show. Can't have that. Everyone must be quipy, race swapped or look nothing like their comic, and basically Batman.

I don't know. On this board, people probably like that shit, because they got a shit taste (see Loud House).

But it was just… so awful. With things like "Guys you have to defeat Vandal - in the future!" "But we defeated him!" "Yes, but he's back and immortal. In the future!". Why not prevent whatever he did in the past, when he was weaker? Why send a dumbass, untrained team against someone that powerful, who most likely killed all heroes in the future?

Then, dialogue like: "He's worse than Hitler! He killed 7 million people!" Oh no, what a meanie! Especially compared to that FRIGGIN REAL LIFE EVENT WHERE PEOPLE DIED!
It's not even really shown what makes him so bad, he just randomly walks around.

There's a hero who is a student who fuses with his tutor to transform, which is kinda gay.
They keep trolling each other despite their transformation is dependent on their cooperation.

There is this generic guy coming from the future telling everyone "Lolol I'm from the fuuuuture defeat Vandal Savage" like Castiel or some shit. It starts with a hero montage like Suicide Squad.

It was just sooo cheesy. Just like Flash. But since people here jerk off to a show where villians are defeated by challenging them to a race, I guess you'll like it.

"At least I'm not a nigger."

That would have been hilarious.

It's Doctor Who.
IT'S DOCTOR WHO WITH A TARDIS FULL OF SUPERHEROES.

If you like Doctor Who if he just filled a TARDIS with a bunch of nobody superheroes who he considered expendable because nobody remembers them and they never had much of an impact on history, and goes on a suicide mission, then, yeah, it's great.

And Captain Cold. I just watch it for the Snart. So much Snart everywhere, just Snarting.

That line is hilarious in retrospective because SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER and then SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER.

they're actually planning on doing something like that with the new show Powerless. Its a DC show that focuses on normal people who are insurance agents dealing with the collateral damage that superheroes cause.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powerless_(TV_series)

Hey now Flash is actually good man.

I'm not sure if you'd like the ending of the 1st season its pretty dumb.

Its sad what they did to him because the design for him was actually pretty good. He is severely underpowered compared to his comic book counterpart. If you're a fan of Vandal Savage don't watch this show they fuck him up beyond belief.

coughcoughDAMAGECONTROLcoughcough

funny you mention that because Marvel was working on doing a Damage Control show. I don't know if they went through with it.

but user, it has The Meme Man Cisco in it

yeah but there's good stuff that makes up for Cisco. Like Captain Cold.

plot twist- jimmy actually has a small penis like all black men do

That's hard to believe.

As someone who watched the 1st season of Supergirl the romance is the worst part of it. There are 5 relationships going on and most of them are love triangles. Its around the same level of frustrating as season 1 LOK romance.

Legends of Tomorrow is like the Pakled episode of ST:TNG expanded to 13 episodes.

does it make you feel better that its getting a 2nd season on the CW?

Doesn't he freeze lasers?

yes he did.

I only ever watched the first 2-3 episodes (maybe only the first but a lot happened in it?), but was Heroes any good, in the end? I can remember some Japanese guy could time travel/teleport/stop time, and a teen girl could never die… did they ever get costumes and team up?

…also the Japanese guy bought a comic from a street news stand in New York. LOL.

Shouldn't someone set up a stream for that ? It could be a fun drunken evening.

He bought Jojo right? I watched all of it and season 1 is the only decent season. If you are expecting some special effects upgrade, because the show was apparently popular, forget it. You'll begin to recognize how cheap they are on using cgi for effects as it went along. They even did an eclipse for one episode to "take" away their powers but was most likely to save on budget.

If you think there was a grand scheme in which they planned every thing out, then you'd be wrong. It just became villain of the season all throughout. All the characters, except for Hiro Nakamura? (japanese time travel guy) just become progressively worst. I think the speedster was the only new character that was okay. The character that Ali Larter plays is pointless but she gets a lot of screen time. Petrelli becomes a douche. They even give Mohinder powers. Syler acts like a lost puppy looking for brains. The save the cheerleader, save the world aspect only really came into play the first season and where it had the most impact. Like most characters, she just hovers around which not much to do.

The ending was not a conclusion but a wrap around to what happened in the first episode, but showing it to the whole world to know that people with powers exists. I know they brought Heroes back for a new season but that was cancelled and I didn't watch it because I got tired of the bullshit that was the original. If you want an example of a complete mess of a super heroes show, watch Heroes.

Bitches don't know about my Misfits Of Science.

They explained why they didn't go after Savage earlier: They either had no idea where he was or it would require changing events that involved the first incarnations of the hawks, which is (sometimes) Bad (TM) according to the rules of time travel

It bugged me why they don't kill him. In one episode they're in a Soviet prison and the place goes to shit. So Hawkgirl has her chance to stab Vandal with the magic dagger but instead Rip Hunter decides to chuck a grenade in there to blow him up even he knows he will come back.
