I just wish natshits could appreciate movies without sperging at political disagreement from a movie producer tbh.

Seems like it'll be a cobbled mess since it seems to borrow from the other Ghost in the Shell anime episodes and movies. Don't mind they cast a white actress in the role but they picked ScarJo except someone with talent. It would be good if it was an Asian actress but who knows any big name Asian actresses in the US that can be a great lead role? The only reason ScarJo got the role is because she is a big name just like how Matt Damon was in the Great Wall movie.

I feel like I'm the only one distracted by the blade runner visuals when Ghost in the Shell wasn't really about that kind of style. It was always close to near our future in tone. If wouldn't say it isn't impossible, it's that it looks obvious where they took their inspiration from rather than what the story details.

I'm hoping it's good but I'm dreading it like I'm dreading that new power rangers movie.

to be fair, Matt Damon's role in Great Wall was that of a European sent to find out the secrets of gunpowder. The real shame is that it was directed by Zhang Yimou (Raise the Red Lantern, House of Flying Daggers, Hero) and due to it it actually had nice shots and shit but just wasn't a good film unfortunately. I saw it since I'm a fan of Zhang Yimou's films.

There's no way they can top the original film, although I'm sure some "nerd culture" reviewers will claim that they did in a thinly veiled attempt to get you to go see it.
It's visually appealing, unless you've seen the far more appealing animated film. The cast is utter shit, and they really should have gone with a Jap cast - Takeshi is the only actor who springs to mind who actually looks like he fits in. Also, Johansson is a massive fucking pussy for taking the role but not getting nude for the opening scenes like in the original.

I don't disagree with you on the problems giving women rights create, my point is that the "natural", polygamous state of humanity creates social instability, hence why functional societies introduce widespread bans (both secular and religious) on polygamy. Not to say that Western nations don't have their own version of polygamy, usually refereed to as concubinage, but this usually only applies to rich men that have the means to support multiple women and their children across multiple households.

If you look at places where polygamy is illegal you'll note it's basically Africa and the Middle East.
