I'm a doctor who graduated not too long ago, and something you see infrequently in hospitals are black men (have yet to see a black woman) in some prestigious position in some department. I've never worked in areas with large black populations, but it's never more than one, it's either 0 or 1, and these guys are, more often than not, more isolated than a white person in their own position would be.
It's weird, they get the respect from their peers that a white or asian neurosurgeon, oncologist, nephro-pediatrician, whatever, would also get, but the interactions are different somehow, as if the black head of department himself avoids too much personal interaction with his subordinates.
I don't have too many years of experience, never worked directly under a black person, my sampling size is small, and this is all anecdotal, but I've worked in the same place with people I believe were high-IQ blacks, and yeah, I always get the feeling they are lonely as fuck, they looked at the abyss and had the intelligence to know what the fuck was going on, they're definitely different than the average ghetto nig-nog.

But I can tell you've never worked in a position where highly specialized people work, with the "no upsides" from individual migrants and "In the Information Age you don't need to abduct a Japanese to make you sushi." comments it's obvious you only have a very tangential grasp of migration and work.
Importing Japanese people to make Sushi is absolutely unnecessary, because in the end of the day it's a job that can be done with relatively little training. It's bad because it takes away these jobs from the people in the country who don't have a particularly specialized skill, or very particular knowledge that took years to acquire, anyone can learn the basics of making sushi and work in a sushi place, it's a perfect starting job for people who are still studying, in training, or simply don't want to study or train for higher complexity positions, so bringing in cheap mexicans to make it will take away opportunities from these people.
More complex jobs are a whole nother beast. Sometimes, for a very complex position, a person who can occupy it and do the job properly simply does not exist in the country. If someone comes from another country to occupy that position they will not take it away from a native from that country. And these people are more often than not either willing to adapt to their new country, if it's better than where they come from, or fuck off back home after they finish their work. remember we're talking about single individuals here, at most a couple, or a family with a kid or two. People who want to import brains and skills do not import a family of a father, a mother, and 10 kids.
And this shit still needs to be done in a smart way, bringing a muslim from another country into your company nowadays just seems like an awful idea no serious company should even consider doing (and for the most part they don't do).
