There was never a cancer killing Holla Forums. Holla Forums only used to be good because of the context of its times. When the internet became filled with retards Holla Forums took the biggest hit. Likewise, before social media when teenage girls other than lonely camwhores, soccer moms, and politicians had no idea how to use computers yet. Say, from when the internet first became a thing in the late 70-early 80s all the way to around the late 2000s. The internet was a lot less cancerous and so was Holla Forums. Holla Forumss cancer isn't a cause of anyone, its a symptom of a dying internet in general.

It wasn't necessarily dial-up you could also count DSL, basically anything before fiber/cable internet the internet became A LOT more accessible to retards after Smartphones took off in the late 2000s. Even desktops became more user friendly. But even so, lets look at the year 2005, the average internet user used Windows XP and even Windows 98 had a massive market share still, I believe it was as high as 20 percent if I recall. And the average person used 1GB of RAM, 3GBs at most as most people still used 32-bit processors while only ballers had 64-bit shit. In 2005, if you were 20, you were 15 in 2000 and most likely was exposed to shit like the Doom community and stuff. Basically it was an entirely different demographic of users that made up the internet that we don't see today.
