Ep: 11
Fanning the Flames
Before I start I have to confess that I have been looking forward to this one, Ember is my favorite out of all of Danny's rouges gallery and the one I remembered best since I watched this show over a decade ago.
What exactly does being Klemper's friend entail?
Sam couldn’t be more obvious and Danny couldn’t be more clueless; it's common teenage action hero troupe that has become a staple of the genre so I will let it slide.
Destroying the handle on a refrigerator door doesn’t mean it now can't be opened from inside, a 4 year old knows that.
Why does Danny get cold? He was fine while he was in ghost form and he doesn't change back until he is back in the Specter Speeder. Probably just poor writing combined with a need to play up the attraction between him and Sam.
What are those two old ghosts a reference to? Classical music composers? I don't recognize their appearance, I guess one of them could be Beethoven.
“An expression of my unique individuality” followed by everyone looking the same, it's a cheap shot but it's acceptable given the shows standards.
The fact that Paulina took the time to ask about the earnings just goes to show she is a bit jealous.
I really like the design for Embers outfit, a bit of punk rock mixed with a KISS aesthetic; the skull elevated heels are nice touch too.
For once the appearance of Ghosts out of nowhere and no one batting an eye actually fits in to story in a believable way. Ember's rock-star motif and behaviors are the perfect cover for her being a ghost since everyone thinks it's just part of the show.
“I fill a void in your empty lives”, do the writers have something against popular music?
Oh stuff it Lancer, her outfit is hot.
If Ember is on all these popular music magazines why is she performing in some little town? She would be in San Francisco or something since there would be more people.
I like the way Lancer curses, the intent is clear but it's still PG and it does make me smile; it's pretty clever, I wonder where the writers stole that from? Also, I said it before but Lancer is really devoted to his job.
The Danny and Sam like each other parts are way too hamfisted, something like this should have been set up slowly from the beginning of the series, which is was to an extent but now it's just too forced.
Danny using his powers in the open again… again
Intelligence maybe, but individuality is not something that can be used to describe a goth kid.
I already said the Sam x Danny scenes felt hamfisted but the flying scene was just over the top but it would have bee tolerable if it wasn't immediately ruined by the bit of unfunny slapstick.
As much as a like Ember's theme I would like to hear a bit of variety to the music, at least change the key if you have to play it over and over again. More than one song would have been ideal but I'm guessing this show has a very small budget.
Why would everyone look in the opposite diction for no reason like that? There is no way Sam could have shouted load enough to overpower the should of the concert.
Ember uses some pretty old slang, it's from the 70's I think. I would love to get an episode about her back-story; I found out a bit through the wiki but it's not the same.
Villain blatantly exposes their plan yet again
Why doesn't Sam just move closer to Danny instead of sitting in the same place waiting to fall to her doom?
Lancer sure can get things done, that or the mayor is not a fan of the concert… but wouldn't a city council have to approve it in the first place?
What is that Ember cutout made out of? Rock?
That thing Jack want to put Danny and Jazz in is not a stockade, it's an iron maiden.
Okay, Danny's little shrine to Sam is beyond teenage hormonal love.
The song playing around the world was so horrible classically stereotypical that I actually chuckled.
I know Jazz is brainwashed but she should still remember that Danny is the ghost kid so she should realize something is up with Ember.
The part where Ember begs the crowd to say her name was harder to watch than I expected for a kids show, if this show was more mature I could see a more drawn out scene getting some emotion in to the show.
A single test score couldn't have had such a strong effect on a school of at least several hundred students.
The part with the girls swooning over Tucker was way to FOP for this show.
6.5/10
scored it a bit higher than usual since at least this time ghost stuff happening and no one noticing makes sense… plus I like Ember. A part of me is really hoping more would be done with Ember but I know better by now; still, if the writers weren’t fools I could see a story line where Ember joins the gang, lots of potential for fun stories in the right hands… which will never actualize.
