Judge Dredd - The Pit

North West Hab Zone, Sector 301, also known as "The Pit", this is the dumping ground for every low-life scum in Mega-City 1, this also includes Judges, Judges who by whatever reason have failed to live up to the code of the law enforcers of the future
Judge Dredd has been sent here with a mission, to clean up this place from the ground up and turn it into an example for all the city of what a good sector should be

I feel in a good mood my Holla Forumsmrades, so I decided to dump some Judge Dredd for you, now with any further ado, this is
THE PIT

And that's Part 1 of this saga
That's all for tonight, I'll continue tomorrow for more Judge Dredd

My my. Now that's the kind of execution I can see an Arbite (Arbitus?) carrying out.

Fun fact, the Arbites are a direct rip off from Dredd.

Also, Good onya OP, the Pit has to be one of the best Dredd stories ever.

MOAR

I love this period of Dredd, when they had actual stories as opposed to either broad parody or hamfisted political allegories. Or mindless violence or edgy gore, for that matter.
I like when Dredd is a character, instead of an action figure or somebody's strawman.

That was some good shit.

Steal from the best, as they say.

Pretty good OP

Glad that you're enjoying it so far
I should be uploading the rest tonight

Nevermind, found a copy on my other computer

Ol' Stoney face is making some good progress in cleaning up Sector 301, but what he's not aware of is how deep this rabbit-hole goes, but first he must clean up a new unexpecte mess

Part 2
TRUE GROT

...

...

Fun fact: Wagner, Ezquerra, Mills and the rest of the 2000AD gang used to drink at the same pub as Jes Goodwin and the other GW creatives, that's why they shared so many ideas
Remember the old Vindicare Assassin mini from 2nd edition ? it was based from Joe Pineapples from the ABC Warriors
And the Imperium's rampant xenophobia, religious-centered attitude and so many other key aspects ? they were lifted from Nemesis the Warlock, more specifically from the Termight Empire

Also, The Redeemer, everyone's favourite 40K comic was written by Pat Mills, writter and co-creator of Nemesis the Warlock, ABC Warriors and so many other 2000AD classics

Now we move into part 3 of this tale, where DeMarco is going to find out why is a bad idea to mix love and personal issues with your job and why Judges are not allowed to fug in the line of work

Part 3
Unjuridical Liasons

...

...

Sometime, I might ask for a Nemesis storytime (including the Termight Empire, of course).

Forgot to mention last pic
See guys, Dredd CAN be a nice fella from time to time, he didn't arrest all of them because he knew they were starving

Dreddy's work is shaking things up more than everyone expected, but things will go even deeper as Priest is interrogated on what he knows about all this mess

Part 4
LAST RITES

The Termight Empire is the main antagonist force in Nemesis the Warlock, run by a guy named Tomás de Torquemada (the guy from where Klovis the Redeemer was based of), that's where the Imperium got 3/4 of its notes, the rest being lifted from Sigmar's empire from Warhammer Fantasy Battle

I could dump Nemesis the Warlock later in the thread just to save space, or whatever Judge Dredd prog you want me to storytime

...

Now "The Pit" can say it's no longer the Justice Department's dumping ground, but things are far from over, as DeMarco is put on trial for her affair, the Judges get close to know who's the creep running this show of corruption

Part 5
DECLARATION OF WAR

...

The stage is set, as Dredd and co. start raiding Bongo's pubs and casinos, things are going to get drokking dangerous for everyone, the last fight for Sector 301 is here

Part 6
BONGO WAR

...

...

...

...

If I may suggest some soundtrack for this part

And proceed

...

Yeeeees.

Heh. No wonder the Imperium looks so vicious. 40K flipped things on its head.

Go ahead, if you've got the room.

...

...

Nothing like a good ol' Judge gunfight

Nice guy sometimes. The best thing to say about Dredd is that he wants the law to be equal for all types of people. Perfect justice.

...

I've recently finished Judge Dredd vd Death Recently.

The Game is fucking awesome, OST is 10/10 and the only issue is the boss fights.

Also, post some Dark judges later after this.

And with that, this tale comes to a close, The Pit is finally clean from all corruption, and Dredd can go knowing that Sector 301 is in the right hands
Thank you for you time, hope that you've enjoyed it

...

If you insist
Don't have Nemesis or ABC Warriors right now, so I'll do what I can

RETURN OF THE DARK JUDGES
Featuring Judge Andersion

A grimm reminder indeed

And that's all folks
Let me know if you want me to dump any other Judge Dredd prog

I want to fuck Anderson.

Be careful what you wish for.

Post that one Batman Dredd crossover.

And the other Argew brother is getting away?

Am I missing something?

Well, the other Argew wasn't corrupt. All he did was know about his brother's corruption and try to help him out by giving him a warning. Or something.

In my little opinion it's a good starting point if you are new to Judge Dredd, it's sort of a middle ground between Over-the-top satire Dredd and edgy violent Dredd
Of course there's the classics like Blockmania/Apocalyspe War or The Cursed Earth, but I think this one isn't taken into consideration that much, which it's kind of a disappointment considering how good it is

I don't think my high school art class fully appreciated me getting a horse's skull out of the supply room, pulling my shirt over my head and doing my besssst Judge Mortissss impresssion.
"ROT IN PEACE, LAWBREAKER!"

MOAR

when is the new Dredd vs Alien vs Predator supposed to be coming?

Hilarious, but impersonating a Judge is 5 years in the iso-cubes
Actually, I'm not so sure if it counts on the Dark Judges at all

This story was running when I first started reading 2000AD, I think around prog 980. Nice one, OP.

From progs 970 to 999, my friend

I should start dumping Nemesis the Warlock by tomorrow, by the way, alongside ABC Warriors because I feel compelled to it

Excellent. The Dark Judges was a fun little story. What a world, though. Do they ever explain how they gained supernatural power?

John Wagner recently said he wanted to kill Dredd for good.
However, time goes on in real time for Dredd. That means he really is like an 80yo guy kicking the shit out of Mega City's perps.
Ezquerra, on the other hand, refused to draw the story where Strontium Dog died. But he returned to draw new stories, although iirc they are all prequels.

Anderson will never literally mindfuck you.

And we're back

Originally co-created by 2000AD's resident madman Pat Mills and artist Kevin O'Neil, the strip debuted in a little sub-section of the 'zine called Comic Rock, which it was centered around stories based around popular music of the time, this one in particular was based on Going Underground by The Jam (youtube.com/watch?v=AE1ct5yEuVY), it only lasted about 2 strips sadly, but it gave birth to one of Galaxy's Greatest Comic best classics

This is the prologue

TERROR TUBE

Yes, Judge Death: Boyhood of a Superfiend and Anderson Psy-Division: Half-Life, might do it later after Nemesis the Warlock and ABC Warriors

...

Now we can truly begin
Lo and behold, my dear anons, this is the beginning of one of 2000AD's finest strips
Beware the deviant, abhor the alien, Be pure, Be vigilant, BEHAVE !, for this is

NEMESIS THE WARLOCK

Book 1: The World of Termight

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

And that's book 1

Let's dive into Book 2

THE ALIEN ALLIANCE

If only I could be so magnificent at 80.

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

And that would be all for today, I shall return tomorrow for more Nemesis, until then…

CREDO !

I think Dredd had a "re-juve job" after Necropolis, so his body is "only" about 50. They could do an ass-pull and give him another one at some point, but there was a subplot a few years ago where he was diagnosed with cancer and quietly refused treatment, so I'm pretty sure he is going to go. But MC-1 is world in itself, now, so 2000AD can get plenty more mileage out of it

Couldn't they just make a clone of Dredd?

Dredd himself is a clone of Eustace Fargo

Why don't they just clone Dredd and Eustace Fargo together?

Fargo is kill since Origins, and there was a whole mess regarding his clones thanks to a guy named Morton Judd

Why not just clone Morton Judd?

Look buddy, it's clear that you are new to Dredd, I won't blame you right of the bat, there's a LOT of events and storylines in this strip and all of them are canon save for those runs made by external publishers like IDW, because Judge Dredd has run for almost 40 years now without re-boots or re-imaginings, just one consistent story, which makes Ol' Dreddy's adventures stand out from other long running characters, btw fuck IDW they can go die in a Iso-cube

Here's what I'm going to do: I'm gonna dump Oz tomorrow alongside Nemesis the Warlock, plus some other Dredd strips because why the fuck not

I'm sorry, I was just being a shitposter, I know Dredd

Why is that IDW comic allowed to exist?

Shame on me for taking the bait, but I'm gonna storytime Oz anyway

They make cheap bucks making bad comics out of existing IP's, and they get paid for it, and everyone knows their quality ranges from average to right out blasphemy
I don't even know why 2000AD gave them the license to make Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper comics in the first place….

I always knew the Adeptus Arbites, Hiveworlds, etc, were based off Dredd. Although it's cool to know that GW was sharing ideas from the source rather than blatantly ripping off what was cool at the time.

Hate to correct you user, you're mostly right there but they both stole most of it from Michael Moorcocks books.

The Runestaff series has a mix of scifi/fantasy with an eternal psychic emperor stuck in a bubble thing who is served by various chapters of super warriors.

Even the WFB world is pretty much just D&D with the chaos stuff stolen directly from his Elric series.

GW even slightly admitted it in a white dwarf article about 10 years ago.

Pretty sure the first issue is already out.

Bomp.

Who is publishing Dust? It's set in the movieverse, it's in the Meg and also a standalone US-style comic.
I bought issue 1 (despite being a Britfag, the hipster articles in the Meg just piss me off), and it looked pretty good, but then moved to Japan. There's hundreds of comic shops in Osaka, but none of them sell British stuff, unsurprisingly.

to the cubes with you, user

Any more?

Some of their comics are good, like Transformers.

Evidently Dredd isn't one of them.

Alright fellas, a promise is a promise
It took me a while to get back on track, and I'm honestly surprised that this thread is still up, but what the hell, let's get this started

This is
Oz

Next time, I should do a 2000AD thread, now that we're close to prog #2000….

Well that was interesting.

Does anyone have The Cursed Earth or the Judge Child Saga?
