I don't like Anki. I use memrise instead. First to memorize the two syllabaries/alphabets (took a few days, not hard) and then N5 Vocab. Every night on my phone for 5-10min for 200 days before I stopped. Found a nice course on there that helps with verb forms. Then there's the Genki textbooks but I haven't read it since August because of school starting.

Not sure there's a strong need to learn it anymore though. I've come to terms with the fact that there's too many games to play so even if I don't like a translation I can find a fan patch or play something else.

Another huge advantage is nip words are only pronounced one way, no ifs ands or buts. Take for example the letter e, you have shit like key, resume, menu, axe, emphasis, Japanese doesn't have that. There's only one sound for each character. You also have the advantage when it comes to sound, Japanese has far fewer new sounds for an english learner than a Jap trying to learn english. And by far the greatest god send is moon speak is not tonal unlike other Asian languages like chink.

I'm an industrial electrician that has just done some HVAC. I highly recommend industrial electrician as you don't have to deal with home owners or stores full of customers getting in the way. Another pro is the variety of work is huge, I have done everything from build gas refineries to power plants to production line robots.

While HVAC pays really well it's pretty repetitive after awhile, I did it for 6 months and while it was interesting to learn I wouldn't want to do it all the time.

If you are skilled with computers or can program PLCs are a growing electrical field that I would strongly recommend but unless you can get a maintenance job you will have to travel a lot.

Thanks for the advice. I fuckin hate dealing with people, so being an industrial electrician might be the way to go. I also like the idea of a variety of work, because I'd just fall asleep at an office job.

There are a few places in my area where I can get an apprenticeship after I finish high school, so I guess I'll just see where that leads me.
