What did it for you?

So when did you guys tap out?

For me it was a combination of actually sitting down and watching Space Cop and the one-two punch of Plinkett Reviews The Force Awakens As Presented By Dogfart.com.

Space Cop wasn't funny, to the point of me wondering why they even made and released it. Like even if you find their humor good… they don't even do that in the movie. It's like too corny to be a serious movie and not even remotely funny or even attempting to be in order to be a comedy. I have no idea what the point was.

The TFA (presented by BLACKED.COM) shit and the fact that they've slowly but surely completed their transition into the socialist-est of justice warriors has gotten me to basically ignore them outside of shitposting in the occasional Holla Forums thread or something. I watched a few minutes of the new plinketto thing and they don't even look like they want to be doing it anymore. Mike's bitching about Sandler looking like a sad clown is the most apt comparison someone could make to Mike himself, unfortunately.

That and fuck Jewsh and Jacuck. I have no idea how those faggots were ever even considered funny enough to be on this show. I have NO idea why those retards are even there.

that guy sounds like Frito from Idiocracy with a mouthful of novocaine so I never listened to it for more than 30 seconds

perhaps this topic would be better suited for reddit

...

i never liked anything but the plinkett reviews. they only review mainstream movies that i'd never see anyway.

you sound pretty cucked by idpol fam

Jesus fucking christ, can you be any more of a millennial hugbox redditor.

when rich and jack did the video game stuff (the first video game review series was okay tbh)
that made it clear they were turning this into a full time thing instead of a cool hobby project.

I love this meme.

I unsubbed when they uploaded the TFA review, thank god I did, the two new guys they brought in are raging SJW's.

The beginning of the decline was when they finally released the Crystal Skull review and it was full of horribly forced, unfunny "jokes" such as "I CAN'T STOP CUMMING" and "ejaculate blood into a storm drain." It only got worse when they thought The Dark Knight Rises "fucking ruled" and they chose to shower it with undeserved praise for the better part of an hour instead of pointing out any of its numerous flaws or plot inconsistencies.

Best of the Worst was an okay friend simulator for a while, but when AIDSmoby, Jessi, and Beardfat's presences really started to overstay their welcomes, that's when I started tuning out. Cucklasa's The BBC Hardens review was the last straw.

When they disrespected George Lucas and the transcendent kino he created known as the Star Wars prequels.

Well I didn't really follow them but when I heard they insulted the prequels that pretty much settled it for me that they catered to redditor plebs.

You're going to hurt that one RLM faggot's feelings and make him sperg and call everything reddit again.

Did you actually read the OP? I said that they stopped being funny, released a movie that was so agressively not funny that I don't even know why they bothered, made a review of a movie wherein they said a movie was bad because it didn't have enough black man on white woman romance, started throwing in really unfunny and forced leftist bitching in attempts at humor, and sort of looked like they didn't want to be there anymore.

None of that has to do with their opinions differing from mine. I wouldn't watch 99 percent of the garbage they review if you pay me. They just used to be funny guys. Now they aren't really all that funny and just look miserable and I have no idea what they're doing anymore.

i miss when the footfags and pedos kept you faggots away.

A few months before TFA was released. There was a noticeable decline in everything they were producing and them getting lazy so I just decided to drop them. I heard about the TFA HITB episode being the death knell, so I checked and it confirmed that I wouldn't be picking them up ever again.

So you tapped out the moment they arrived on the scene.

...

this argument only works if you are laboring under the delusion that all opinions are equal.
they clearly are not: case in point - your shitty opinion

RLM jumped the shark when they invited Landis' son, then they slowly went downhill with Mike getting more drunk and Rich getting more screentime than necessary. Like I said before, I think Jay should have his own show, he seems like the only guy on the team who still enjoys movies enough to criticize them.

...

Naw dude this is a general bitching thread, not a new episode announcement thread. You already posted that in the correct thread, you can take a break for another week or so man.

I didn't because I can handle different opinions unlike a fucking autist who needs to be in an echo chamber constantly lest somebody commit wrongthink near him.

Around the time they invited Max Landis. It wasn't the invitation itself, in fact Max Landis wasn't even being insufferable when he was a guest there and it was an overall good video. But it was around that time when they started really churning out bland garbage and their videos started getting less and less new materials and more in-jokes and repetition. It was that combined with their pushing of Space Cop and the excuse of "it's meant to be bad so it's okay for us to make a shit movie" that made me reconsider future views on their videos. There was also a significant degeneration of what made the cut for them on Half in the Bag. Movies stopped being shit and started being "boring for me but niche audience might like it". Actresses stopped being failures due to poor acting and started being failures because of "hollywood just not being ready for a female action star".

It also doesn't help that they have some of the most cancerous fanboys out there. Ever take a look at the comments of one of their Youtube uploads? Shit is nonstop ass kissing and people bending over backwards to make excuses for them and getting genuinely butthurt over valid criticism. Now other peoples behavior shouldn't affect your own enjoyment you might say, but in the case of RedLetterMedia a big part of the enjoyment was discussing not only their video with other people but also to watch the stuff they watched and talk about it with other people who did so and with people getting their fanboy modes cranked all the way up with RLM it started to get more and more difficult to get any kind of enjoyment out of this, because people would just parrot lines from the video and get violently angry and upset if you don't agree with RLM's opinions.

I can't pinpoint any exact moment because there was no exact moment. It's been a slow and gradual decline and it reached the point of being painfully bad for me around 2014 and it became unacceptably bad in 2015.

I used to love Mike but if I saw him today I'd honestly try to kill him just to put him out of his misery. He's like an old sick dog that you can't stand to see hurt any longer.

He hates being Plinkett but that's all he's got and he has to keep playing the character to maintain a living. SpaceCop, the one chance of him following his dream of being a real film maker, was a completely embarrassing disaster. He has a broken baby, his bitch wife walks all over him and the fact she's cuckolding him is all but confirmed. He's balding.

I think he'd kill himself if not for the baby, but with his wife's reputation I doubt it's even his in the first place. I'd just tell him I'm sorry and put a bullet in the back of his head.

...

...

...

but neither their budget increased nor am i noticing any SJW merch whatever that's supposed to be.

Jay is the only reason I'm still watching. Everyone else is unbearable. Mike was funny when it was clear he didn't give a fuck about movies and was devolving into alcoholism, but now it's just depressing watching him try to mention details about movies he doesn't even like. Rich can be amusing, but he's annoying and doesn't offer decent insight. AIDa and Beardfat are the worst.

It's when the baby comes out not the right color

It's blue?

...

Oh ok.

This is a weird loss

RLM is disappointed me the same way Grand Tour did. They replaced the unscripted banter with lots and lots of cringey scripted character moments. Nothing they say sounds authentic anymore, they're all just playing obnoxious characters.

To add to this, I agree that Jay is the only semi-respectable member of the crew left. He at least actually fucking talks about the movies and doesn't make an obnoxious character out of himself during the discussions.

So the guy that is absolutely full of shit 99% of the time and goes full on "Daisy Ridley is a good actress" is the only semi-respectable one left? I guess since he doesn't pretend to be in character, that means he is the most honest. Even when he is shilling just as hard.

...

I don't think I've yet heard them say anything about the need to transition beyond capitalism.

Has Jessi been BLACKED?

Asking for a friend.

This, basically.

I actually like Landis: he's a spazz and a jewish woman but he does stick to his guns, which is admirable.

But inviting him on did mark the end for RLM. Right after they sold out to Disney and it was truly over. I actually tried watching Best of the Worst after the TFA review, but Mike was lecturing everybody about making Marina Sirtis show her tits in Deathwish 4. I just shut it off at that point and never watched again.

Is he /ourguy/?

I never got into them. I was always in the camp that found it embarrassing to see Holla Forums fawn over a bunch of guys no better than us, largely due to a bunch of criticisms that tons of people made of the prequels when they came out.

Yes.

POETRY

TFA review. Had some doubts after Ghostbusters '16 that they just let the hype get to them, but the Plinkett review that spent more time on the prequels than the movie it was about cemented the decision. After that, I tried to figure out when they started going downhill. My best guess is when they reviewed Boyhood and kept referencing it all the time. Around '14 in general is where the rot seems to set in going off everyone else. If you're blind, you didn't notice all the little vids they put up around TFA's release, where they bitched about consumerism and SW, yet they have shitloads of SW merch and "ironic" clickbait videos where they mock it, yet still profit of doing the same. Plus Jay doesn't get to talk shit when he owns almost every copy of Evil Dead 2 ever produced. I don't think Landis could've kissed ass harder if he tried to in that BotW.

Someone needs to take one of these and pair it with an old outdated Third Reich Mike meme and add the appropriate caption, "WHERE DID EVERYTHING GO SO WRONG"

I can't put my finger on the exact moment I stopped caring, but just watched them less and less. They started seeming less funny. Mostly I just want to watch them tear shitty new movies to shreds, but they started giving them passes or even liking them so I stopped watching Half in the Bag. Then Aidsmoby got more confident in his comedic skills so every BotW is full of him cracking awful jokes. Then the Plinkett TFA review came out and it was clear he couldn't care less and only did it because it was expected.
I still haven't been able to finish Space Cop.

This is some serious funny right here.

Their Iron Man 3 / Pain & Gain review was the start of everything wrong. To this day Iron Man 3 continues to be forgettable and only remembered as a travesty but it was the first major notable moment where RLM was actively disregarding the fans and common sense. They continued to purposefully misconstrue all criticism of Iron Man 3 as fanboys upset the Mandarin didn't show up like he did in the comics when there were plenty of other major glaring issues with the movie. Pain & Gain was a odd one because the movie itself is okay, but they treated it like it was nothing because Micheal Bay directed it.

Ever since then their attitudes continued to change. The decline was very noticeable and very gradual. By the time TFA came out, the tipping point was reached. After CISbusters they had nothing else to offer. When the Plinkett TFA review came out it was all clear to anyone with any sense that they were full cuck. I just stopped paying attention by then.

Another that stood out like that was the Hobbit prequels. I can't get how someone could say the first one was a mess, but the other two were much better. I wonder how much they let their contrarian nature override what they really thought.

The women that used to be on the show deserted them… so they needed people ( I use the term loosely) to fill the empty spots.

Chicks left around the time the quality dropped… they probably saw where this was headed before anyone.

I always imagine Mike either furiously fapping to those pictures or screaming loudly at his monitor.

OP, you are not a faggot. you are worse than a faggot. you are a pathetic sheep, and seriously need to jump off a bridge to fix your problems.

Oh silly user, you know that movie was one good scene the tried to build the entire move around with the flying furry shoved in to appeal to that demo

There's probably more… but it would seem there was a shake up a few years back and many people left RLM.

TFA might have been $$$ so whatever, gotta pay bills.

Space Cop. It's shit but we're aware it's shit, so it's ok, it doesn't need to be funny or interesting or anything, it's "ironically" made shit. I stopped watching after 20 minutes but should have after 5. How the fuck do they criticize any film after committing that piece of shit.

...

I unironically like them more than the OT except New hope

My legit ranking is:

Eh, I didn't even see the TFA review or Space Cop. I mainly hung around for BotW and WotW you can see like 5 years ago they're just sitting around and shooting the shit for fun and giggles. I think were it starts to change from my perspective is when they brought back WotW since in retrospect they clearly didn't want to do it anymore but it was also very popular. I guess they though "fuck it we'll do it one more time" during that period but I think that's the genesis of their enthusiasm started to drop off. It became less "let's just have some fun" to "we gotta do this because it's popular". Which I think lead to the forced memes during the last few years like Boyhood, AYYIDS and so on since that's what the kids are doing, these meme/joke things are popular.

Combine the "dead inside" with the growing popularity and cashflow, it just makes their shit a chore to watch now because they want to anything else except watch and review films. The only people who haven't gotten the memo are AIDSMoby (because he's a retard high on his Leddit browie points) and Jay (who while having perpetually shit taste still has a genuine excitement over movie making).

I think the last one I was entertained by was probably the Landis episode mainly because Landis was fresh to this and came in superhyped and I think that transferred over to RLM a bit, it sort of restored the "childlike" feel to it one last time. Plus it had Double Down which is hardcore fucking kino.

They are basically very average people who are not entertaining.

They've all aged so much…

JUST

My last-last straw was when Jay and Rich said that "Fury road" is better than "Roadwarrior". After "FA" RLM redeemed a bit with their "Gh2016stbusters" review, but after all I, quickly lost any hope for them.

a pic of Mike in Gorilla, Interrupted vs. today is an excellent PSA about alcoholism

Average people can be entertaining. They used to be, but then they forgot they were average. And then they stopped being entertaining.

I miss the convention vids

Read it again dumbass, SW merch not SJW.

...

After July 27, 2015
Best of the worst.
And I'm not really into movies.
Also their projects before red letter media showed me that they can't make films.

The convention videos were fun just to see how they as nobodies interacted with others. Made them seem real. Like real human beans. Now they just seem fake and soulless.

You echo my exact thoughts.

It really isn't any good. Bits of it are shot well and Nolan at least tries to do something interesting with the utter shite that is the source material but the plot is a laughable mess and most of the scenes that are supposed to be serious instead come across as unintentional comedy.

It's interesting to note that the everyone who involves themselves with RLM will have their physical fitness seriously decline.

I can't be the only one who remembers what AIDSMoby looked like when he still had hair.

The prequels will always be utter dogshite, there's no changing that.

Heil Hitler.

The prequels were better than the originals. The originals were complete dogshit, the only reason you and your fellow Redditors like them is because you watched them while you were growing up.

Prequels were garbage.

Stop shilling your videos E;R.

...

Still better than the originals, though.

You just participated in a may may. Congratulations, you are the equivalent of the Bogdanoff meme.

sorry about that double click.

Yup, its a bit funny when people take it seriously.

No one truly thinks that… look at all the attempts at Fan fixing the prequels… in fact fan fixing caught one because of the phantom menace!

...

no, space cop was a pastiche of ironically shit.

it was so awful they actually thought they were making something barely tolerable.

The originals wouldn't even be fixable at all due to all the bad acting and the fact that there's really no good underlying plot to get to.

The Jew is immunized against all trolling. But call out his shitty meme and watch him recoil: "I've been found out."

The originals have nothing substantial to fix….most people would remove the special edition trash and the other stuff Lucas tried to fuck up on new releases…. Greedo shooting first… boba fett's voice, etc.
The prequels require rewriting the terrible writing of the movie massive cuts, reorganization, etc.

I remember liking their prequel "critique" a while ago, when prequels weren't fresh in my mind, but thankfully I rewatched them since then. I didn't watch anything else by them, nor I care for watching anything from this point onwards. Plus, it'd be best if we didn't have pseudo-shill threads about them. Just don't give them attention, they don't deserve it other than for laughing at them. And yet still there exists a faggot that keeps posting their new videos constantly, and discussion about them keeps on popping up, we already get it, they're shit.
I never wanted to feel this strongly about a few youtube guys, but I fucking hate them, and I hope they get asscancer like the fat game reviewer. But with AIDS, just for good measure.

the only absolute OT changes that need to be fixed are the krayt dragon sound and vader saying NO in jedi. fix the krayt dragon, remove the noo and the rest of the OT is gold. han shooting is a meme argument and does absolutely nothing to belittle his character, like OT autists love to imply.

Is that a bad thing?

The prequels name the jew.

That's still shit. Adding another layer of shit doesn't help at all.

Probably why (((critics))) didn't like it.

"Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis "the wise"? I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from death, but not himself."

Alright, is it me or this a actually a good mini story?

Story is no bad but its terribly told

I never got how him being afraid of losing his power was connected to Palpatine killing him in his sleep.

What did they mean by this?

I hope it's Aidsmoby and Beardfat lecturing us about fascism and nationalism.

How is the source material "utter shite"?

Good God here comes ignorance from low IQ leftist degenerates that hate themselves.

You think that's scary? Watch the first Half in the Bag episode. Mike still has life in his eyes.

Not the best fit user.

I still watch them, to be honest. Granted, I don't think they're that great anymore but I find their stuff more bearable than say the Nostalgia Critic. I think RLM inspire better content producers than producing content.

I watch them but I often get triggered/pissed off.
For example AidsMoby saying "BAD FILMS LIKE FLASH GORDON, ZARDOZ AND THAT" or that one witch looking girl that isn't Jessi saying "HMMM But I like it - so it's good"

I have still never watched a video by these guys. I shitpost constantly about them in these threads but for and against

...

Ha

Youtube is broken and unsubing counts as two unsubs, lets blow up their channel.
