Go back to hell, Holla Forumscksucker

Molly isn't cute enough.

Why…

Not even Disney thinks this shit is going to succeed.

Yeah, this sounds like the most current year show possible. is there anything remotely surprising or good about it?

I'm so fucking sick of this marketing babble. It appears on any video, press release "review" or other justification of something that has no real audience.

I've seen Miles Morales, the Muslim Ms. Marvel, the Mexican Ghost Rider and every other bullshit diversity push described as "fan favorite".

IF IT WAS A FAN FAVORITE, IT WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN CANCELLED. Fucking Squirrel Girl is still being published, and it's numbers are abysmal and the only people buying it do so purely to mock it.

Anyway, the book is terrible. I'll describe the premise, but the stupidest always salivate at the idea not realizing how retarded it is.

A group of every kind of super villain is meeting. There's mutants, time travelers, aliens, and sorcerers. They have a plan to gain power which involves sacrificing their children. The children get wind of this and runaway.

As I recall, the group was made up of the following:

Molly Hayes, everyone's favorite character. A loli with psychic powers which translate into super strength. Her eyes grow powerful and she gets really strong, but feats of strength tire her out. Caffeine improves her strength, and she always wears fashionable silly hats (the runaways always have an endless supply of trendy clothes somehow. A future (adult, and well… hot) version of her shows up during X-Men's ridiculously shitty time travel plotline Bendis wrote.

There's an Asian goth chick with magical powers, she uses "the Staff of One" which can perform any spell, but only once, so she has to do something different every time. It's powered by blood, in at least one instance she uses her menstrual blood.

The girl with purple hair is an SJW with no powers of her own. Throughout the series she's drawn increasingly fatter until her death. Her ability is that she's psychically linked to a raptor called Old Lace. When she dies she transfers the link to someone else so they can control it. Most notably, in one issue they meet Spider-Man and she lectures him on his "great power" slogan and how "it's the powerless with the most responsibility" because marxism.

The blonde girl is a Kree alien with rainbow powers. She turns out to be a lesbian and doesn't want to return home because she has to marry a Skrull guy named Xavin. Xavin reveals he can use his shapeshifting powers to become a girl, so as was ridiculously common at the time at marvel (Hulkling, Mystique) they explain away the gay relationship by making one of the two parties a transgender shapeshifter, so they're schroedinger's sodomites, both gay and straight at the same time.

Xavin later joins the group as a PROUD BLACK WOMYN.

The black guy was the son of a crime boss. Again, no powers, but he has genius intellect because you know, black. He dies too, gets replaced by a robot, I think it was the child of Ultron or something, I forget.

The blonde guy is the son of time travelers, he invents gadgets, notably he has a pair of gloves (I think they were called fistagons?) that shoot flames, and he had some x-ray goggles he used to see the other girls naked.

Eventually they go into the past where they meet another loli who has plant controlling powers. They discover she's the child bride of some old dude who's raping her, and liberate her from him, but then when they get to modern times plant loli witnesses Xavin dyking out with xir wife and calls them disgusting sodomites. Molly then lectures her on how saying this makes her "just as bad as the stupid adults!" so the little girl apologizes for her bigoted, triggering ways.

After changing hands three times the book gets cancelled, Molly has a few appearances in X-Men because she's a mutant, the other remaining characters appear in Avengers Arena where Arcade has kidnapped a bunch of random young super heroes and forces them to fight eachother to the death. Alien lesbians went back to their home planets, blonde guy stole Darkhawk's power crystal during the events of Arena, the entire book was (of course) a marketing gimmick to introduce a new young team of undercover heroes posing as villains which flopped.

As you can tell I did not enjoy the book, or I'd have a better memory of it, and I just saved everyone a great deal of time.

tbh muslim ms marvel is a fan fanvorite.

it's probs one of the only diversified marvle book that got popular within the comic community.

Runaways was a fan favorite though. It sold a shitton and only got cancelled because they couldn't find a writer for it. It died because no one wanted to work with what was probably the most original concept of a superhero team to come out of marvel in fucking years.

She's the only one that actually has a few fans, but that's largely because she was right at the start of the latest wave of this shit. The book has still largely been garbage, and she hasn't helped the sales of any of the other books she's appeared in.

The first volume sold well, but the story had no real planned ending or anywhere for the concept to go. It was a poorly thought-out concept, that's why sales dropped and the characters all ended up shuffled into other books that in turn were cancelled.

I thought the writer intentionally tanked Runaways because she got asshurt about something I can't remember.

No one is arguing that it was poorly planned really. Honestly I don't think even marvel had an idea of where to take it and weren't even banking on it succeeding in the first place. There was several points while reading I felt like the writer had an ending but only kept it going because some dumbass exec kept mandating more issues, the point is it started out really good, and then it got really pointless around the time Joss Whedon picked up writing and started running it to shit. It got infinitely more pointless when one of them turned 18 and became a legal adult and got a job to start supporting the others, essentially becoming their guardian.

That was actually the third writer the series had. The first one left because he ran out of ideas and chose Joss Whedon to write in his place. Then the chicks came in and that's when it started getting aimless.

How (((diverse)))!

You don't have an right to judge OP when you have bestiality porn on your computer.

...

Go back to reddipol, retard.

This looks like it's aimed at 14-16 year olds specifically.

You mean to say it will be even worse than we could imagine it to be?

Degrassi with super powers?

I'd say I'm impressed they cast everyone's race correctly, but then I remembered this entire run was racially based and the white characters are shunned.

was the early run of the book good at least? It seemed interesting when I was younger.

They still own a stake in Hulu

Didn't they push for a MCU movie?

Why the fuck is Molly so old?

REEEEEEEEEE

Molly is, unfortunately, the only good character in the series.

When we get a Power Pack: The Animated Series with the superior Marvel loli??

Didn't she punch the Punisher in the nuts once?

In the stomach.
