My point about the headers is, check the folder where zlib.h might be. Then check that folder is included in the compile commands or CFLAGS. If those are right, it should compile.

So I put TWRP on an android device. After pressing power off in its menu it fucking froze. The battery is not removable. After a minute the screen turns off and if I press the power button it lights up and it tells me to to swipe right to unlock. If I do so it freezes on that. Holding the power button does nothing.

My receiver is a Yamaha RX-V375. It has the ARC connection on it which is currently plugged in and in the manual it also asks for an optical lead to be connected between the TV optical out and the AV4 optical in. Why does it need this? Is it a redundant cable? I don't see any point in it when HDMI already carries sound.

In theory it doesn't matter. If you find it easier to operate the receiver, then connect it that way. Picture will get to your screen either way. However, if the receiver does something to the picture, then skip it and connect directly. This could be adjustments or scaling. If audio from receiver is analog, don't connect through it either.

Sure, trying it doesn't hurt. If the file is large, it might still slow down a bit and eat a permanent chunk of your memory during runtime.

If the file is some kind of useless cache, try symlinking your file to /dev/null. If you want to prevent the creation of that file entirely, make a folder with the exact same name.

For other distros, try $RANDOM distros from distrowatch, and a BSD too. It all depends on what you want, and actually trying a few different flavors may refine that taste. Or post your requirements here and get shilled and pick the first one, no biggie.

Actually, that irssi test didn't show much yet. Try with a vertically split screen. If the characters stay in the first window, then it works.

I'm just curious, I have a motherboard with two PCI-e slots, and when I got my computer, I got a garbage GPU to run it while I waited for my good GPU to come in the mail.
The one I'm using currently is a Radeon 390x, and the garbage gpu I got is an R5 220, because it was cheap and worked for posting on chans.
Now I have both because I never bothered returning the garbage GPU.
My question is, what would happen if both were plugged into my computer? Would it fuck anything up, or is there any sort of benefit to having both in there?

If they were the same model you would be able to run them in crossfire. Otherwise it is useless. It will do nothing but waste electricity. It would be a better idea to build a home theater PC with it or give it to some young family member so they can learn how to build a PC.

Hey Holla Forums, using Linux Mint 18 here, how do I get the program that displays images on here to go into slideshow mode without going fullscreen? Everytime I do it, it goes fullscreen, and when I exit fullscreen it stops the slideshow. I want it to rotate through various images in a given folder.

as for audio, I don't know. I always get other problems when using linux, not audio though.

How do I use wget to download images from 4chan? Its working perfectly fine on Holla Forums. I've been reading the manual and looking for tutorials for days but i still haven't figured it out.

When I downloaded your game, I realized that "./configure; make; make install" wasn't going to work, so I just followed the instructions from the github page. I did all of the steps required, but for some reason I'm getting an error stating:

Fatal: Compilation aborted

But I don't actually care enough to try to solve this issue at the moment since I have another game I'm trying to get compiled.

I played this game alot before and came back to it now because of good memories, but I wanted to try to have a different experience with the game now.

I noticed that you can't really do nearly 99% of everything in one playthrough (after many tries and fun games) because you can't get all the stats, all the skills, all the talents, all the abilities, and all the knowledge in one character, nor can you upgrade all the stats to 100%.

I want to figure out how to edit my save file so that I can make a very deeply ability and feature rich character so that I can sing and perform, fight in mechas, and also be a kungfu master. I basically want to create a character and be able to do anything I want. I know some people will think this is silly, but I just feel like giving myself a treat after playing gearhead2 alot. I feel like I need this.

it's binary data. non-human-readable. machine code displayed as ascii characters.
edit the savefile with a hex editor - an editor which displays the binary data as hexadecimals.
suppose you had 3 charisma. you save your game, open your savefile using a hex editor and search for occurances of the number 3. if you're lucky, some hint will be displayed like "chr:3", if not, you're going to have to increase your charisma in-game to narrow down the right spot in the savefile that manages your charisma.

if you're really unlucky, the game keeps check on when the savefile was last edited, or it checks the validity using checksums. but that's rare with non-profit games.

Okay, so at the very least the "spendable" XP and the the amount of cash you have are shown as is in the save file without any editing.

I suspect that it is just showing as it's true value even though it's hex for some reason because if I put my cash as Nine 9's it's fine, but TEN 9's cause a negative number to come up.

ONE 1 and NINE 9's however doesn't cause this problem I think.

you're dealing with the hexadecimal number system. 9 in decimal is 9 in hexadecimal. 10 in decimal is A in hexadecimal. FF becomes 256.

I use YouTube downloaders generally to download audio and video to my HDD. I find it interesting that YT blocks downloads with certain content. Does anyone have insight about this? Apparently, they can detect the usage of downloaders and have the ability to block streaming to downloaders, but they only prevent it selectively.

When blocking occurs, then I can't download with any downloader I have tried. (I mainly use Opera YouTube Center for video and 4K YouTube to MP3 for audio; but have attempted to use other downloaders in this circumstance). If one downloader's blocked, then all of them are. There is however nothing different about the video that would be apparent in regular viewing mode.

This seems to occur most often (though not consistently) with copyrighted content. Oddly, it is content that does have a copyright, but the uploader's not the copyright owner. Like when [random-YT-user] uploads a 1930s film that no one cares enough about to exercise a DMCA complaint against, then YT may block downloading. Maybe YT knows it's copyrighted and probably shouldn't be there, and they're trying to limit liability in case a claim is made? But how would anybody know it was downloaded? Why are they going to the trouble? Does somebody working at YouTube sit there and go through videos, flagging the ones that shouldn't be downloaded? It's all very thought-provoking.

If you use a x264 video as source you will probably get new artefacts, so the same quality isn't possible, but you will get a smaller file. Keep in mind that stoarge is cheap and only the newest gpus are supporting x265 hardware decoding. You can use the binary (or compile it yourself) for x265 directly test the different flags and 2-pass encoding first with a short video.

If you really need the video to be 1080p, you're gonna have to be a wizard to compress the size that small. You can try lowering the resolution or maybe compressing the audio quality if your main concern is video quality. (Removing audio can also help if its unnecessary.)

always reach the maximum file size when possible, it's just a few megabytes. for WEBMs you want to use vp9 instead of vp8 since vp9 is the newer codec that can provide better video quality at a smaller file size and libopus since it should also provide better audio than vorbis at a smaller file size.
Tell us what you're doing exactly to encode the video and what settings you're using so we can see how to improve your video quality, also knowing what exactly is in the video is nice. (for instance, anime should look better at a smaller bitrate compared to a nascar race because anime videos are much simpler and feature less motion).

xmedia recode is the best GUI option for windows, but ffmpeg should be your choice. This guide is pretty good for spoonfeeding but if you can use your discretion on some things that you shouldn't do every time (like resizing the video depending on the lenght) you can still get better quality. Also remember that when you encode a lossless video the result will always be better since when you encode an already lossy video you're only stacking image quality loss without any file size benefit

If you're brand new to programming, I'd suggest starting with an "easy" language and avoid assembly until you better understand programming. Scripting languages are good for a first language because you can just make shit and run them without having to worry about compiling.

Let's say I hypothetically want to create a VPN between myself and a neighbor for file-sharing, LAN gaming, and shits and giggles. Connecting the 2 routers directly with an ethernet cable seems to be ideal since it would provide gigabit ethernet and lower ping than connecting via WAN. Google isn't any help because every result either assumes the 2nd router is an access point (or part of the same internal network in some way) or will be connected via WAN.
This is an illustration if what I'd like to do. Is this possible? (I'm running Tomato on my router, but if I actually wanted to try this, would that be enough for direct router to router VPN? Or would pfSense be better? Would the 2nd router also need to be running something other than shitty stock router firmware?)

i have 4 PCs and 2 tablets infront of me. XP, 7, 7, 8, 10, and some shitty android version.

The XP machine and the 7 machine have only 4gb of ram. which is the max for xp but not for 7 since my 7 is 64bit but the rest of the hardware is actually new (i5). the XP machine is much faster.. but i also have less databases installed on it.

my 2nd 7 machine is a newer machine with 32gb of ram and an i7.

my 10 machine is the newest. i has a slightly faster i7 but also has the same ram amount, but the speed is only negligibly faster.

they perform about the same when running most applications. both underwhelming considering the cost of the hardware.

arcgis runs faster on my 7 machine despite the 10 machine being newer.

because that's not how partition tables work, your harddrive can't do magic. you have to move the partition next to the unallocated space and then extend to the right.

Both ctrl keys on my keyboard just stopped working. Tried plugging it into different ports and nothing is changing. Restarted the PC a couple of times, nothing good here.

It never happenned to me before, so I used partition wizard and it "disabled" my E: partition during the process so I freaked and stopped it, I'm just being paranoid right ? Is this normal ?

What would I need to do/buy to make a little thing that just displays python scripts? What I want to do is just have something where I made a custom keyboard for it and have a small computer that just displays the program on a miniature display. The program's I'd like to have on it don't have anything graphical, it's all just text.

i'd use my arduino and buy a compatible LCD display

Yeah, but how do I find out the hexcode to edit? I've never seen a "how to crack" tutorial that involves that, only the copy the .exe to the file and be done with it.
