Yeah, so what? You can just access a website with an adblocker enabled, and if you can't, you don't.

Non-botnet FOSS Servo browser with the functionality of uMatrix, NoScript, https Everywhere, Canvas Blocker, and TOR built in when?

I would probably actually be willing to pay money for that shit

It's called reality and we're all living in it. If you don't like it then make your own browser with adblock built-in :^)

...

Iphone user, I bet.

And websites wonder why people block ads

get with the times nerd, it's 1984

Why are browsers so heavy anyways? FF dropped gopher support in the name of being more lightweight and then piled on orders of magnitude more shit in the way of webgl, massive js engines and user tracking.

All the engineering talent that originally created them moved on to real jobs.

sounds like my 2 year old droid 4 actually

If you can't you use a different website. No site is the solo provider of anything. No even news such as WSJ that just released an article minutes ago, just use archive.is for thos.

Fucking normalfags trying to commercialize my Internet.

The browser that can parse the most non-conformant and broken HTML and javascript is usually considered the best. If a website doesn't render properly in one browser but does in the other, people assume the browser's broken, not the website. To obtain the popularity they have, major browsers started aiming for that, adding all the bloat they have. To make matters worse, people have begun thinking of browsers as their all-in-one suite for pretty much everything on the computer. The browser has to be able to do everything: Writing/storing documents and files, all kinds of image/video editing programs, games, videos, music, absolutely everything. Of course, to gain more users, major browsers have added all of that functionality.
Nowadays, creating a lightweight browser is simply not possible anymore, unless you use an existing rendering engine such as webkit and a javascript engine. If you try to, you'll end up with a browser that correctly parses any non-retarded website, but fails with the vast majority of sites on the internet.

Because browsers are their own microcosm now. People think internet = world wide web and want to do literally everything from their browser from playing games to watching movies to banking to interactive sheet music to game creation engines. Websites also have tons of fucking bloated scripts and spyware that browsers have to accommodate because if they don't normalfags will be annoyed their shady porn sites and yahoo email won't load.

Although I can understand why though, browsers are pretty much universal across operating systems (user-end wise) so I can do the same thing on my linux desktop as I can on a school windows laptop or apple tablet without learning anything new. The portability of putting something in a browser and knowing that 99% of your audience will be able to see it without problem is very attractive.

Friendly reminder that Google Alphabet and their Adsense program fucking destroyed the price of web ads.

Google is a bit like shopping malls, they really add nothing of value.

If I replace the pouch in the case for a stronger one, would it work?

I think it has a lot to do with simple incompetence from the site owners side in many cases. A regular old news site shouldn't need 50 different scripts to work.

It does if they want 50 different ad and tracking providers

Yes, I'm posting this from Links 2.13 using Tor.

stallman?

It doesn't ignore the css, dummy.

Sure, but if your site doesn't even load without an adblocker you fucked up bigtime.

It's depressing how badly designed modern sites are, both the front and the backend.

Stallman uses wget I think.

My browser literally only pulls the html file, parses it, and then shows me the result. No other connection is made, which means no other files are interpreted or even downloaded. No js, no css, no images, nothing. That counts as ignoring in my book.

...

That's any major website these days. The site could be readable if you can cut out the News section and the big blocks at the top. What would be the way to make a script to get rid of those parts?

Atleast it showed something
There are websites wholly writte in JS

find ((big blocks)) -~if/empty
--erase.cmd

That's nothing
I'm working on a website that's a SPA entirely written in Angular. Blank page when you don't have JS
I hate my job

Instagram is the worst one I've seen.

>the other 25% are almost never worth temp-whitelisting shit for
That being said,

I know a lot of sites require it but it's still greentext worthy

...

CSS is alright, though, but unnecesary if you are displaying anything worthwhile.

What if someone made a browser that only parsed correct HTML and provided a way to nag the owners of shitty broken websites about them being shitty and broken?
It could pull addresses from whois info or a user-submitted WOT type system. Publicly shaming broken websites somewhere would be good as well.

Let's clean up the web the old fashioned way, social pressure. It was powerful enough to keep women skinny for centuries.

I did this once. I saw multiple planes, all of them terrible, and almost died. I have no idea how normalfags can stand it.

monoliths are great

No, I'm engaging in discourse on freddit while incidentally incrementally filling up Utah. Do you have anything to say about making the owners of bad websites feel like shit or are you just triggered by a userscript?

They are.

i really need to replace the battery on my galaxy s3, it's going to blow up any minute now

That pic is stupid. Lovecraft includes a monolith in like one of his stories.
