I was watching South Park (of which, incidentally, this controversy would make a great episode). It was On Demand from Comedy Central and sometimes On Demand stuff has a few commercials in it. Yeah, another problem with Holla Forums is that most of them can't into diplomacy along with their difficulties with generating content. While they complain about "muh PR obsession doomed the movement," they fail to understand that most people will keep their distance from ranting ideologues. While using reason obviously fails against SJW and far Left folk, it's worked well (if slowly) when used to win over moderates who still have their heads screwed on straight. The point of using reason was also to baffle and convert would-be moderates who bought into the narrative, but were still curious enough to look in. It's why things like Airplay and other events even happened.

Ghostbusters 2 wasn't as good as the original because they did a genre-flip and made it a superhero movie with forced comedy bits.

Even Box Office Mojo, which drank the kool-aid in it's initial report, had the best it could say was it'd do about as well as Green Lantern(it tried to spin this as good because it had a slightly lower budget and it'd do better than the way lower budget previous movies the leads had done, but the numbers don't lie).

45 isn't even the universal agreement, some estimates are currently lower than that. But even the absolute upper estimates mean it'll struggle to make it's budget back without the Chinese jumping in to save it.

Just by the many audience reviews, anyone who is slathering this movie with high praise and claiming that Kate McKinnon's awful acting had them rolling on the floor with laughter is doing themselves a massive disservice by telling the world that they have shit taste and low standards.

I just saw a ghostbusters trailer on TV. the fucking thing doesn't even hint at the protagonists being women. it's a beautiful mix of desperation and self-awareness that they're promoting something awful.

I saw one where the whole thing amounted to a second and a half showing off the budget blown on effects, cut to a logo, and another brief shot of special effects. It's like they're trying as hard as they possibly can to advertise everything but the movie itself.

I work at Target and just today I noticed the Ghostbusters merch they got in the toy section.
The majority of the merch is just Ghostbusters stuff in general. Mainly the Stay Puft Marshallow Man and the Ghostbusters mascot. Moderately picked over. But there's this one little hanger with the action figures for the Ghostbitches, and it's totally untouched. No one wants that shit.
