while putting the United States in a dangerous position either way.

For the people side there'll be anger rising against gov. which means civil rebellion which then imposes new restrictive laws. We, the people, lost.
Also nations worldwide anger against US gov. which could lead to an escalade of violence. We, the people, lost.

For the government side, which means an attempt to divide, obstruct or disrupt the current gov.
Is it only a political move, or a geopolitical one ? either one of those will results in sanctions imposed on us, the people. Again, we won't gain nothing out of it.

this leak could have prevented tensions, instead there's something brewing at the moment and we, the people, will not like it.
