I think it's important to display more than one aspect of her personality- the one that Willis fears all the more, and the deeper-buried passion that we ourselves have discovered to be true of her. Compared to, say, a cool simple board mascot like Christ-chan, Mary was a character created for more dynamic purposes besides as a memorable symbol. She is through and through a character of her own with likes and dislikes, that Dave has gone out of his way to show us one side of as a result of his distaste for her. Celebrating the nature of a crusader with her is indeed a passionate method of bringing Willis' own medicine to himself, but there is more left over to Mary than most of the Crusader fan-art we've seen. For instance, she's probably big into anime in some form or another, and it is also in her nature to care for the friends she has that Willis hasn't shown us.

My point being, while the one that is relevant and possible to rescue is the DoA Mary, it doesn't change how Mary is out of her depiction in Dave's 15 years of comics.

I can't find the source code for the regular chrome/firefox version of the addon. There is however a greasemonkey script of the addon that you can check the source code. I would use that if you're the paranoid type.

When I was in High School, I was friends with a girl who had a very religious family, they were part of a "free evangelical" church (from what I gathered they were similiar to Baptists) and she took me to some of their meetings sometimes. The way Willis portrays Joyce's church reminds me a lot of those meetings – you have this nice, familiar atmosphere where everyone is friendly to everyone else. I always have a hard time taking atheist portrayals of "those horrible, closed-minded religios fanatics" seriously because I grew up around religious folks and from my experience, the most religious peole have often also been the nicest and smartest people I ever met. I was raised up as an atheist but going to those meetings sometimes made me wish that I was part of their community, too.

I guess Willis doesn't see it that way, he probably thinks those people are being ungenuine and faking their friendliness to hide how horrible they actually are. He probably sucked up all the weird liberal agenda people get stuffed with at American colleges and of course that conflicted with the traditional values people at his church believed in – and since he, like most people, is unable to see the world as anything other than black and white, he concluded that his church is a terrible place full of lies. What's funny is that the current SJW cult he's part of (I can't see it as anything other than a cult anymore) has tons of people in it who are much more horrible than religious folks could ever be. I wonder if he will ever realize this and how it will make him feel once he does.

Mary studies and when her friend, Carlson, is messing around in the hallway, she asks him to stop, and he does.

She finishes studying and feels bad for being rude to Carlton, but not enough to say sorry. Instead, she asks him out so she rollerskating with him outside, after studying.

Hijinks ensue as they meet up with their friends in the school fountain.

Afterwards, Toe-Dad drives by just as Mary realizes she has her exam in 7 minutes!! He gives her a ride to the right building and after she aces the test, everyone celebrates.

Then Mary wakes up in a blank outline and realizes that it was a dream and in actuality she is pretty alone. Even when Holla Forumsnrad tried to comfort her. The thing is, the thought occurred to her that her family and friends weren't with her in this safe place. Even though the user saved her, they left her family and finds behind.

Any OC we do after this point should deal with her coping with this loneliness by meeting the rest of the Holla Forums Parthenon.

It's presented as them loving each other but it's still very, very debatable since, again, she's kinda "the boss" around, to the point where she literally karaté-wrecked several people who told her off and threatened anyone who wouldn't obey her every order, which includes merely going to a night reunion where she tells everyone to be afraid of her.
Try imagining the situation if a man who constantly threatened everyone of physical harm if they didn't obey everything he ordered got himself a girlfriend who was one of the girls he had "control" over; even if she was indeed in love with him, it'd be very, very awkward.

The "dumbing down" isn't really like that, and it had literally nothing to do with refugees anyway. But people got mad simply because a spelling reform that was supposed to be put in action decades ago FINALLY got put forth, and it features shitty, stupid stuff anyway.
