Thoughtforms and Godforms; living dreamstuff
What is so interesting about the astral is that it is sculpted by thoughts, emotions, sensations, belief, and intentions (that of the stuff of even higher planes of existence). An interesting consequence of the laws of the universe dictates that any thoughtform (or formation of thought), when given sufficient time and energy, becomes alive, in some degree or another. However, this is a massive responsibility as (1) they'll essentially be like children to you, (2) every thought of yours will be read until the day you die, and (3) you cannot banish these “local spirits” as they are intertwined with you at the soul. This means that all gods and goddesses are real, that near all of your ancestors live on with you in the astral plane, and can be contacted in times of need. We can craft sigils or use extant ones to empower us as groups and individuals, or to strike fear and discord into the hearts of our enemies. We can use the metaphysical properties of oils, crystals, astrological planets (minerals have energetic properties, so too do colossal clumps of them), metals, water, candle flame, and herbs—or powerful combinations thereof (for example orgonite and holy water)—to raise the vibration of its users or cleanse them of harmful energies, simple entities, or spells. The power of spoken word—or as the Norse called it, galdr (mantra)—can be used by layfolk to let the old gods and power of the runes enter their lives. We can create egregores that will represent companies, schools, universities, nations, and Aryan governments to organize them and enhance their effectiveness. Recommendations for how to proceed
We cannot be effective until we begin to organize. Make secondary email addresses and finally form meet-ups. Begin first by learning how to banish; perform the Grand Order of the Draco Slayer's version of the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram every morning, and practice visualizing yourself with white light for ten minutes straight while understanding that this is the preferred means of invoking the god of the All (which will help to remove parasitic entities). Begin trying to meditate for several minutes before doing so, focusing only on your breath while ignoring all other thoughts—do this for long enough and you can begin to enter “gnosis,” which will dramatically enchance the effectiveness of any occult effort. Study Miguel Serrano's energetic system, as well as that of the Vedic chakras, as these are used to empower all manner of thoughtforms. Bind to each chakra its respective Roman godform, where applicable (available from Miguel Serrano) by visualizing the sigil for each Roman god flying in and out of the chakra. Now, my thoughts on meme magic lean towards it being mechanically different, but functionally identical to how OP describes things. There MAY well be a universe full of gods, OR gods are simply be powerful memes which we use to apply our own power.
And it should be noted, "our own power" very likely goes beyond simple "mind-over-matter" in some extra-scientific ways.

For example, when my my understanding of memes was in its infancy (pre-chan board by about 5 years, circa 2003), I practiced a form of meme magic I called a "self-initiated placebo effect".
I was sick once with a cold. I literally imagined my cold as a cloud of negative energy surrounding my body and projected it onto a delivery man, who then left with it.
I didn't LOGICALLY believe in any of the mechanics of that process (if what I did was literally real, it was a very bad thing to do), but in the course of doing it, I forced myself to believe and created the desired effect of feeling better. The power of memes vis a vis faith in the placebo effect.

I'm, not going to write a dissertation about it, but Tl;dr, you are using a VERY specific set of symbolism. This peculiar combination of visualization, vibration, nomenclature and emotional energy will sort of 'fine tune' the perception after a while.

I've never paid attention to meme magic stuff before, but I've read this whole thread tonight and posted a few times right above, so let me tell you two this little bit, as best as I understand it.

Meme magic as it seems detailed here is a work of symbolic (symbol) magic aimed at changing reality on a large scale by penetrating into the psyches of the masses, like many little batteries to power that idea (of the symbol).

What they've described in OP's work is a sort of 'dressing' to be used to coat the worker so as to be more in tune with the work. I'm not speaking on the actual validity of the dressing or not, just how it fits in with the work to be done (and who it's to be done against).

Now, technically, all of this is magically sound, as all esoteric/occult/magical schools and traditions around the world do work this way (not with memes, but with the power-generation methods used to power things like memes…depending on how far your definition of meme goes).

You can take the dressing or not, but you can work with the methods and see where it goes: affecting large parts of reality is large work, though, and training is required even for little things.

Yea, and I don't think an actual explanation of what is actually happening is any less valid.

So lets say they, through foggy yet creative thinking, convince themselves that they CAN influence reality through purely mental effort. In that "mode" they are at a very bare minimum affecting their mood and attitude, which will as a result become more positive because they feel like they are able "do something" to fight, in this example, a cold.

So, which state of consciousness is better? Regardless of whether they directly affect anything in reality or not (they don't), the alternatives are to wallow about and "dig into" the experience of feeling sick, or to (through self-deception) bring about a more positive attitude to cope with the illness better. Clearly the self-deception is justifiable. …and clearly you'll eventually overcome a cold at some point, so you set yourself with a ready made positive feedback loop of "oh wow, this works!"

Even in cancer patients, doctors will plainly tell you that keeping a positive attitude and "fighting spirit" goes a long way in encouraging the body to heal itself. The fundamental fact is that our mental states directly impact our body's ability and willingness to heal. It's also a fundamental fact that a positive attitude causes a person to become physically active, which contributes to health when you have a flu or a cold.

In my view, all of this esoteric shit is a means of getting people bought into the notion of self-deception as a good thing for the purpose of motivation, simply because it can have some positive side-effects (not direct effects).

I finally figured it out when I noticed that my breath changes automatically between each of the mental states we go through in the sleep phases.

theres 3 main stages, you first paralyzes your body, the second engages your imagination and the third is typically when we have deep sleep.

firstly we want to harden the body into paralysis so that the jerks from the next stage dont shake us awake, to do this you should do very shallow, very spread out breaths. Focus on relaxation and a natural breathing patern.

next when your body is hardened you will naturally begin to breath at a much quicker tempo, this is the REM period of sleep, breaths are usually 2 seconds in and 2 seconds out, with little rest inbetween. Coinciding with this will be various astral noise like voices or sensations, just ignore these.

typically the vibrations start at the threshold from stage 2 to stage 3, if you fail the projection and regress to stage 2 you'll have to go through the vibrations again.

finally we are going to enter into the deep sleep, here you will know when to enter it and when you have automatically entered it by how your breath automatically changes to a deep 4+ second inhale 4+ second exhale and a several second long pause between your breaths.

I recommend not even trying astral projection until you've gotten these stages down, I first managed to notice these stages by counting from 1 to 10 thousand and being observant of when my count would slip.
