Why can't they make a new ip? People gobble that shit up, all you have to do is follow the pixar formula like every other movie. It feels that Cars is someone's probably an executive's baby that either they need it to perform well to look good, or just want to have his/her baby out there. It's not like Cars is the biggest franchise or the best, and it gets 2 sequels while shit like WALL-E, Inside Out, or others have nothing.
