There a completely different beast than most LEDs. These are arrays of about 150 super-bright blue leds encapsulated with a phosphor coating that absorbs the blue light and converts it into high-intensity, broad-spectrum white light. The light comes from the phosphor, not the crystal. They're a couple companies using them, but there is no one out there implementing them at really high currents (I've found 1400mA to be the magic number. These things are photon cannons, you have to see one running at full steam to believe how bright they are. One chip can safely take 3 amps across it, they aren't grandma's LEDs.

Problem is, if you're trying to pull your money out, it's incredibly difficult. Think about FOREX when the ruble crashed, they'll freeze the exchanges or adjust the fees to discourage sandboxing, and they are much less accountable than FOREX so I wouldn't expect better. I don't get high anymore, I only use cannabis as a laxative (damn good one), and for muscle tension from working out (volcano only, I don't smoke). It shouldn't be used recreationally if you are expecting medical benefits, and conversely, if you are using it for medical benefits, it can't be used recreationally because you don't get "high". Either way, your choice to make and sans any legitimate medical data, you have to trust your own bio-assay. Most people experience a deficit in mental acuity for the first week of heavy use, where that then tapers off and brain scans normalize to pre-cannabis levels of activity even when habitually consuming it. I'll tell you that I experienced that same phenomenon, but I can't authoritatively speak for anyone else at this point.

See, I'm absolutely in love with the 3070, I think it's the best value at 50W per chip (HLG185C1400 will drive 4 perfectly). What people buy, on the other hand, seems to be the latest and greatest. I'd sell components individually, that's where the most money is, and Cree is releasing new bins on the 3590 in a few months, so it might be worth waiting for the DB 3590s to roll out, as people are going to snap those up. I have a 1000W 3070 panel and a 1000W 3590 panel, I haven't noticed any difference in g/w despite the bump in efficiency. I'd grow yourself AND sell components if you are knowledgeable and can manage the workload, it's all good money at the end of the day.

Hell yes they have money to blow! Problem is, there have been so many bullshit LED pitches that they've had to wade through, they won't believe you until you can take them by the hand and show them results (which you will get growing with COBs, and only COBs). These guys will absolutely accept a 20% markup if you can make an effective pitch.

Yeah 1100 from the wall actually, the drivers are a little over 200W a piece, and I run five per panel. You could push 100W per chip, but thermal management will be pretty spooky, you get 1800 foot candles evenly over a 4*8 with 50W/chip with both 3070s and 3590s, the 3590s just run a little cooler because they have larger surface area.

Here's the biggest tips I give everyone:

Jacks 3-2-1 formula (look it up), cheapest way to fertilize, and the cleanest.

If your grow room is too hot and humid, most people's first thought is "how do I cool it down and dehumidify?" Completely wrong. Plants love it in the high 80s at 90% relative humidity, the problem comes at night where the carrying capacity of water vapor in the air drops and you get condensation. Look up vapor pressure deficit, and understand that you need to keep those temperature and humidity readings up when the lights go off, and you'll never get mold, rot, mites, etc because those all require cold temperatures to establish themselves. Most think humidity causes mold, they don't realize it's a cyclical environment that causes mold. If you grow with properly maintained VPD, the oil content of your product will be unmatched by anything commercially available right now.

Mostly good advice, but a few suggestions.

Re. having a car. Cars are tremendously useful depending on the layout of your area. Just don't take out a big loan or a lease for a brand new car. You can get a really great used "luxury" or at least high-quality car for like $10K. Just do your research. Don't buy shitty unreliable car brands like Fiat, Jeep, Land Rover, Dodge, etc. Stick to the tried and true brands like Subaru, Toyota/Lexus, BMW, etc. Toyota is a particularly good used car purchase, because they last for an insane number of miles. I have a 100-series TLC as a beater/roadtrip car with over 318,000 miles. Only routine repairs so far (drive belt replacement every 90K miles, brake pad replacements, etc.).

Re. investments: I would also recommend investing a small amount (say 5% of post-tax income) in hedges against really, really bad economic conditions. This means physical commodities (gold and silver are probaby the easiest to get). Just a bit of minimaxing.

Re. college: I would change this to "don't go to college for a bullshit degree". STEM degrees are fine, law degrees from reputable universities are fine, etc. Don't ever get an RTF degree, a gender studies degree, an education degree, or any other bullshit like that. You're wasting your money.

Also consider community college. Dirt cheap and perfectly decent for most fields.

I emphatically agree w.r.t. marriage being a terrible investment for many people. It's very unlikely that the tax benefits outweigh the risks. If you want to have children, marriage typically simplifies the legal complexities of doing so, so determine for yourself if this is valuable enough to outweigh the increased risk. It's actually really expensive, and growing indoors has become way cheaper with bulk hydroponic nutrients and pure coco fiber fabric pots. Soil isn't cheap, and you need a lot of it for organic outdoor plants. Those shitty mexican grow ops they bust in the national forests and stuff are way more sophisticated than the news will credit them with, it isn't like falling off a log.
