/starting opera/?
I want to get into opera but I start at zero. Any good filming of an opera to start?

If you haven't watched anything, watch something light like Magic Flute. Check a few variations until you find one with visuals you like.
trust me, you don't

Are you sure you know what opera means?

I attended an Opera once.
I fell asleep 5 mins in.
Yes.
Carmen or anything by Gilbert and Sullivan are entry level. Reccommend Mikado or Pirates of Penzance.
Go check them out,
Watch operas by musicians like mozART and wagner. Enjoy the music and read the story or download a dvd with subtitles to watch after listening to a music recording. Just focus on the music. Watching operas for the story is gay as fuark.
your days at the opera-popera are numbered
wagner was an antisemite, dont watch his operas
If you want a movie with opera, watch Amadeus
If you want to listen to an opera, try:
Don Giovanni (Mozart)
Carmen (Georges Bizet)
La Traviata (Verdi, there's a full version on youtube)
Pagliacci (Leoncavallo)
The Flying Dutchman (Wagner, you can find numerous full versions on youtube. I recommend the one conducted by Giuseppe Sinopoli)
Tosca (Puccini)
Rusalka (Dvorak. If you want to go to heaven look up "Song to the Moon" sung by Valentina Nafornita)
And eventually try Wagner's Ring Cycle. It's not beginner-tier opera, but after listening to a few others I think you'll find it pretty entertaining. There are some really cool scenes in it, like when Siegfried fights Fafner the Dragon or when the Giants come to take Freya away.
Have fun!
