Last time I was on half/tv/ there really was no real discussion going on. Mostly just people saying "lol thats awesome", "yeah I know right?" and "ayy lmao XD" and its kind of devoid of any real analysis of a film or series. Last half/tv/ threads I was on were basically one about Humphrey Bogart and the new Star Trek show. The Bogart one lasted for like 26 posts with the final six being people arguing about if he was in the closet while posting the Seinfeld quote you know the one to make sure they didn't offend anyone. The Star Trek one was basically them liking the ship's new look but then two guys pointed out that the ship design was shit and the thread pretty much died instantly.

Outside of starting a Naruto thread or a third NGE thread, this does not happen. I like /a/–it's the only board over 200 UIPs free of Holla Forums shitposts. If I want to shitpost, I come here. Also, you guys are way too obvious with the kino meme over there.

I feel the general issue people have is that /a/ is named /a/ but it is not like "/a/". The same applies to Holla Forums and Holla Forums, both boards have the name but are dissimilar from their namesakes. Holla Forums Holla Forums being anti free speech and Holla Forums Holla Forums allowing generals being the obvious big differences.

Holla Forums on Holla Forums is named Holla Forums and it is very similar to the board it is named after. It is Holla Forums in spirit while most other boards on Holla Forums have the names but not the spirit.

I think you're forgetting why this site became popular in the first place. 4chan had deteriorated significantly with regards to both moderation AND post quality leading up to September 2014. /a/ was being drowned in sales threads and big 3 threads, with the majority of posts being substanceless allegations about show quality ("forced animation," etc.). The same was occurring on Holla Forums with the continued "is X racemix ok?" or "why do you hate gays?" threads. Even Holla Forums had increased hostility to baneposting. Holla Forums saw an influx in users not because it was trying to capture the "essence of 4chan," but rather because it offered itself as an alternative. The only anons deluded enough to believe that Holla Forums was ever like "old 4chan" are Holla Forumstards and Holla Forums.

I'd also like to point out that Troid was a massive faggot who destroyed any semblance of quality renaining at half/a/.
