Video Proof that "Liberals" and "Conservatives" are LITERALLY the Same thing

So I came across this video of based Max Blumenthal interviewing liberals at some "Rally for Truth" they did recently with the usual accusations that Trump is a communist and so on:

And I couldn't help but be reminded of this video of the Tea Party/Republican Party marching on DC 4 years ago at the height of the Right's hatred for Obama:

They are damn near the same video. Right down to the accusations that the President is a "communist" or "working for Russia". The people all act the same and are all mostly Boomers. It's pathetic and disgusting.

Idk I don't really have a bigger point here I just thought you guys would find this interesting.

Yes dems and reps are both retarded

American conservatives are classical liberals or "libertarians". In Europe conservative movement is about nationalism and traditionalism.

After making this thread I started thinking about this article: theintercept.com/2017/07/17/with-new-d-c-policy-group-dems-continue-to-rehabilitate-and-unify-with-bush-era-neocons/.

It's basically about how the neocons have infiltrated the Democratic party. Now the Dems have obviously been shit ever since the neocons decided to come back to them, but the interesting part of this article is this:

FOR MANY YEARS — long before the 2016 election — one of the leading neocon planks was that Russia and Putin pose a major threat to the west, and Obama was far too weak and deferential to stand up to this threat. From the start of the Obama presidency, the Weekly Standard warned that Obama failed to understand, and refused to confront, the dangers posed by Moscow. From Ukraine to Syria, neocons constantly attacked Obama for letting Putin walk all over him.

So they are literally just using a tactic they were going to use on Clinton to smear her as being a "kremlin puppet" and all of the same shit they say about Trump now. Which I feel like just discredits the whole Trump/Russia narrative in itself

Is that why the threat of fascism coming back is taken more seriously there?

I've always said that both the Dems and Reps are neo-liberals, just with different rhetoric to appeal to their targeted demographics. The only reason people are harder on Trump then past presidents in my opinion is that instead of keeping questionable actions relatively clandestine or the rhetoric apologetic, he just openly and rudely brags about it while putting the spotlight on every single action he takes. Imagine if Obama went to twitter every time he approved a drone strike or said "Sad" in a mocking tone whenever a child got killed, you might have had Dems actually calling him out for it.

You'll generally find that even the most ardent "right"-wingers in America are too ideologically enveloped in the idea of "freedom", "patriotism", and WW2 hero worship to consider the idea of fascism, which for all intents and purposes here just means Nazism. The idea of "Left means the government does stuff, Right means less government" is taken to the extreme here so much so that it isn't too uncommon to hear right wingers claim the Nazi's were left-wing socialists because they had a big government and had socialist in their name.

Glenn Greenwald has such great bantz, I wish he would leave the Intercept already.

...

Dems are Repubs who are ok with abortion.

Would it be advantageous for the left to turn the horseshoe theory around and say that conservatives and liberals are the ACTUAL ones that are similar.

When it comes to idpol Reactionaries and Tumblr liberals are literally mirror reflections of each other

Well, yeah. Social liberals and conservatives are two types of liberalism.

How new are you? Have you never seen the fishhook theory jokes? Saying conservatives and liberals are subsets of the same liberal tradition is just stating facts.

How do we get Americans to start understanding this en masse though? I feel like one of the main problems with US politcs is that Americans don't understand the correct terminology

...

This may be even more self-congratulatory and pretentious than the horseshoe theory.

...

...

pretty sure that's the point

It’s a joke, fam.

Holy shit I can't wait for boomers to die

It's also a lot closer to reality.
