According to the results of a new survey released by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, “the majority of America’s largest generation would prefer to live in a socialist or communism society than in a free enterprise system that respects the rule of law, private property, and limited government.” This is the second year the Washington, D.C., based anti-communism think tank has conducted the survey, but the results were no better than last year’s assessment. In fact, they’re a little worse. More Millennials would prefer to live in a socialist country than in a capitalist one by a margin of 44-42 percent, while another seven percent said they would prefer to live in a communist country. Doing the math—44 plus 7—that’s 51 percent of Millennials who would prefer to not live in a country with a free-market economy. Sadly, that’s only 10 points higher than the rest of the general population. The VCMF statement regarding the survey concludes:
As VCMF notes, communism isn’t making a comeback—it simply never went away with the end of the Cold War. And, as we remember the 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution, it’s rearing its ugly head once again. But this time, we seem less prepared to meet the challenge.
Dylan Brown
Socialism in this case meaning free college and government neetbux.
Michael Gray
Do the math user, that is means that out of the millennials who want to live in a socialist country, 86 percent don't know what socialism is. Varg was right, we really are getting dumber.
Eli Perez
Isn't it our job to educate them? At least the revolutionary potential is there.
Daniel Perez
When half of Millennials want Marxism-Leninism, then we're in business. "Socialism" is a very vague term unless it's used in the strict Leninist sense.
Tyler Rodriguez
they just want more gibsmedats
Easton Nguyen
that would require sitting up from my chair
Owen Kelly
These dipshits have been drinking their own kool-aid for so long they can't see straight.
Carson Wilson
Unfortunately, no. Most of them want to continue living in the cosmopolitan liberal capitalist society they already live in. They just want to maximise their ability to compete with other workers by demanding more free shit. Specifically, shit that generates Mr Porkington hundreds of billions of dollars a year like the higher education racket because that is what """socialism""" is according to the Guardian and the Imperial Times.
Jackson Reyes
Education (outside of some of the hard sciences) is just the transmission of a culture's values and beliefs into its young. Accordingly, these self-identifying radicals have adopted what they have ben taught: that socialism is essentially liberal neoliberalism with a smattering of ultra-neoliberal policies like massive immigration, which serves to keep prices high and costs low while masking economic stagnation and the falling standard of living.
Matthew Young
They're not looking for mass immigration, they're looking for the government to have the slightest shred of accountability for the workforce.
Parker Young
Yes but socialism to them is when the government does stuff. Free college and healthcare is basically all they want to change. Can't blame them, but it means a hell of a lot less
Levi Smith
This is total bullshit and you know it. 90% of """socialist""" """""""activism"""""" consists of encouraging the state to further their economic misery in ways that are socially acceptable (but which are, critically, completely compatible with global capital) like prostrating themselves for more immigration and thus endlessly worse conditions. None of these kids are looking to improve their conditions: if they were, they would be fighting to limit inflation or immigration. Instead, we get green haired cunts screeching for more welfare-accepting immigrants because Buzzfeed told them it was cool, thus deepening their already infinitesimal chance of labour/material security, and LARPers who say that we should storm parliament and/or "munch the wealthy".
Fucking liberals make me so angry. IRL left-wing activism is such a joke now thanks to the idpol crowd. If anything, we need to clearly divorce ourselves from them in order to attract an actually revolutionary/pragmatic youth who stand a chance at effecting actual change.
Easton White
wait, but Holla Forums said this was the most conservative generation ever.

Are there people who unironically believe capitalism has ever, does, or will ever look like this?

So what this actually means is that most snake people want to live in social democracy rather than a libertarian hellhole.

Cutting immigration altogether would be optimal, otherwise cutting it down to less than 100,000 per year. Remember, porky ensures that the economic strength of a polity is measured by GDP, which is simply the amount of money that is spent there. Immigration then ensures that 'muh economy' can never truly regress in strength because, as we all know, everyone is coerced into spending money in order to survive. If they cannot earn money they are simply given money that is either taken from others (mostly workers) or borrowed from one of porky's piggie banks (IMF, World Bank, Barclays etc.) and then doled out in the knowledge that the proles will have to repay it eventually, with interest naturally.
Of course, the owners of the property rights of goods and services, and especially housing, inevitably reap massive profits because the constant population growth ensures that there is a floor under prices that simply cannot go down. This is the principle reason why housing costs are so outrageously expensive in cities, and why they are even more expensive in cities with exploding populations due to immigration (i.e. Melbourne, Vancouver, London, etc. etc.): the buyers know that purchasing and holding/hoarding property is essentially printing free money, they simply cannot lose because the demand will always be there and the supply will always be finite. The only thing that can change the situation is interest rates adjusting, but that can a. be easily avoided and/or b. highly profitable is prepared for. This same rule applies to everything: technology, foodstuffs, whatever, while obviously also creating downward pressure on wages due to increased competition for work. Everybody wants every dollar in everyone else's pocket, that is the nature of the beast. This process is squeezed further by the relentless march of automation, causing even greater competition and thus an even greater upward movement of capital. The way to ensure that money continues to be spent in the lands of a greying population that doesn't replace themselves, and thus to ensure ones own survival in a capitalist system? Simply fill them with workers/consumers who will. The resulting despair can be seen all around us, as real wages continue to fall but our states become "richer".
Immigration is absolutely a capitalist weapon; Marx is rolling in his grave.
Benjamin Johnson
How do you plan on stopping immigration buddy?
Owen Cooper
You should know better, Holla Forums.
Gabriel Collins
How was it defined? Did they ask about welfare or healthcare or actually specifically wrote "socialism"? Who and where did they ask?
Logan Peterson
The most intelligent ones are probably the ones who answered "Not sure" as I doubt any of these people could properly define capitalism and socialism.
Sebastian Carter
Collaborating with porky so the evil browns down tek hiz jorb because he's a reactionary microbrain
Henry Morgan
Muh immigrants aren't driving up London or New York housing prices, that is speculators and other porkies who don't need citizenship, residency, or even to have ever set foot in the counrry to buy a million dollar condo.
Muh inflation is the number one concern of neoliberals and is why unemployment is being kept so high.
Muh welfare is also being happily dismantled by porky.
>>>Holla Forums And stay there, dipshit. I mean, yeah, you get a certain amount of credit for memorizing some buzzwords, but your actual content is so transparently reactionary it doesn't help.

Or no on all of them because none of these has anything to do with workers owning the means of production. Some of them are symptoms of socialist government but it does not make them socialist.

Reminder that to most people the words "socialism" and "capitalism" are like "freedom," "the pursuit of happiness," or "tyrrany." They are just words to describe how you feel about and what you associate with a form of public policy. In 🍔burger🍔stan, we call this kind of word a "principle." It means jack shit when it comes to concrete, technical policy - a way of looking at things that has been all but systematically eliminated from general discourse. Most of these people do not even conceive of capitalism vs. socialism as defining material relationships in the process of production. The reason why state capitalism (or "full monopoly" capitalism as some people have started calling it) is what people associate with communism is because they literally cannot imagine a system other than capitalism and that's the closest to communism (public ownership of everything) they can get. If you get people to describe their understanding of a feudal economy this is similarly clear. They assume and project generalized commodity production onto feudalism when in fact most production was done for use and most produce held in common, a minority of total produce going to the nobility and a minority being traded externally (this last one being the extent of commodities).
Kevin Brown
reminder that Americans literally think Britain is socialist.

I'm to lazy to read any of that but im pretty sure most millenials just want social democracy.
Brayden Robinson
Notice how none of you actually provided an argument. Massive immigration has always been driven from above you dumbfucks for precisely the reasons that I mentioned, its not fucking hard to understand. Its also not hard to understand that these migrants vote as a block for mainstream dems in the US, mainstream labour in the UK/Aus etc., there is no substantial interest in radical politics there despite what you might have read on Counterpunch.
Look, while I'm sure we'd all like to have a revolutionary vanguard that consists of charcoal black, wheelchair bound, legless schizophrenic deaf lesbians, this LARPing needs to stop. I thought this board hated idpol more than anything, can't you fucking grasp that measures like immigration keep the population in check because they believe that the economy is growing stronger and that they "just need to try harder"? CLEARLY ensuring that there is population growth is bad for the working classes because it increases competition while raising costs, how the fuck can you reject this? Is this one of those - don't talk about it - things because it would upset the liberals too much?
Julian Bennett
Because this board is scared as fuck of attracting Holla Forums. Problem is that this way they attract reddit. I agree with you
