That said, those sentiments are pretty common among american city dwelling blacks/mestizos I hear some variation of those types of things a few times a week. Not very. I mean, if you're afraid that some kind of violent conflict or a civil war is coming, don't hold your breath. For all the heated rhetoric, American politics remains largely peaceful, much more so than in say the late sixties, early seventies, when you had whole cities burning, and almost daily bombings. The Civil Rights movement and Great Society reforms were enormously successful in turning Blacks into a permanent Democrat voting bloc. This was by no means a grassroots movement and was heavily financed by the Ford foundation. There is a whole book on this topic whose name I can't remember at the moment. This does not mean the Civil Rights movement was bad, but rather that the goal was largely to expand the power of left-liberals. Do you think these people really care about Blacks? Please.

Same goes for immigration. We effectively run our immigration policy as an anti-poverty program that doubles as a way for Democrats to increase their political power, that is once again presented to us in the framework of Justice, Equality, the Greater Good and anti-racism. Do you think Democrats care about Mexican immigrants seeking a better life? No, it's pure propaganda. Same goes for their current marketing of free trade - only a racist would oppose making a sacrifice for poverty reduction in China. Both of these greatly exacerbate inequality, as has been shown somewhat recently by economists. In both cases left-liberals engage in historical revisionism to tell us that these are just Our Values (tm).

Conveniently, these allow for the creation of ever-more unaccountable extra-governmental bodies. Just look at how long our "Free Trade" deals are. Over and over we see elites mobilizing the underclass through bankrolling and identity politics in order to gain democratic legitimation for things they already wanted to do and market it under the guise of Equality - while actually increasing economic inequality! It's brilliant.

For starters, leftism and the US Democratic Party are two very different things. I am a socialist, as are many people on this board (there are also anarchists and pedants, but what I will say also goes for them). The democratic party is not our party, it is just another arm of Capital. A lot of what you say about them is true in some sense: they have mobilized the working class, to some extent, without benefiting the working class. Trade deals (especially the callous way they are implemented) certainly harmed them, as has financial deregulation they championed. Immigration, not really all that much, that requires a thread of its own. Those are, however, all three things that benefit Capital, and the Democratic Party has served Capital fist and foremost. This is why the Democratic Party and wealthy liberals that support it are an enemy of Holla Forums. That they agree with Holla Forums on some social issues does not expunge their guilt. Liberals get the bullet too, as the joke goes.

Now, as for minorities, the poor, women, etc. voting for the Democratic Party - it's not like the Republican Party offered them a better deal. All they have ever done, and continue to do, is cut services these groups depend on to give tax breaks to millionaires. And that is on top of doing the exact same harmful things that Democrats do on financial regulation, trade and even immigration if you pay any attention. If you don't give them a better deal, don't sperg out when they don't vote for you. That's democracy.

But maybe you're a magapede and shrug off all this talk of the two parties. Don't be fooled. Your golden god is a false god, as all gold idols are. He's implementing the same kind of agenda which any other republican would have. Right now, they are floating a bill that would wreck America's finances, all to cut taxes for corporations, and make sure that heirs to billionaire fortunes don't have to pay a dime in taxes when their thieving fathers kick the bucket.

But the Democratic Party was never a socialist movement. Even at it's most progressive under FDR, it implemented those policies to subvert the nascent Socialist/Communist movement. Left idpol gave them a kind of second lease on life for a little while - the Democrats subverted left idpol more than the other way around. That electoral trick is done, though. They are never winning an election that matters again without a populist economic program.

As for what left idpol is doing to real leftists movements, that's really complicated, and, you know, political - giving the people what they want to some degree.

My whole point was that the elite financiers of these movements turn socialists toward elite Democrat ends through the power of financing and fake grassroots organizing, and then kick socialists to the curb once the desired outcome has been achieved, which has the side effect of assimilating many of said socialists into the Democratic party.
