No. It's not wrong to call this state capitalism. It is fucking state capitalism...

No. It's not wrong to call this state capitalism. It is fucking state capitalism, and if you say it's wrong to call this a state capitalism, you are wrong. The person calling it state capitalism is not wrong, you are wrong. In this entire equation, you are the only person that is wrong. This indisputably is private property, and therefore it is state capitalism..

Nice straw man, but that's not really the issue. The issue is leaving in place a class structure. They replaced the bourgeois with a bureaucrat who still appropriated surplus value and decided how to distribute it. That is what makes it state capitalism.

...

it's a portmanteau of Lithuania and Latvia.

Yes it is. It was capitalism, plain and simple; not state capitalism.

At the heart of capitalism is the generalization of commodity production. The USSR retained this and is therefore still capitalist.

I bet you think that feudalism had generalized commodity production too and was in fact capitalist.

I wonder who could be behind this plan of Fingol continental conquest

is this a Matt Eastern meme?

Now why would he think that?

Guys, let's settle this by looking at what Lenin had to say about it.
>socialism is merely state-capitalist monopoly which is made to serve the interests of the whole people
>What is universal labour conscription? It is a step forward on the basis of modern monopoly capitalism, a step towards the regulation of economic life as a whole, in accordance with a certain general plan, a step towards the economy of national labour and towards the prevention of its senseless wastage by capitalism.
Okay that settles it I guess, USSR was state capitalist

Well, feudalism had commodity production therefore it was capitalism. Same goes for slave societies

it was a disgusting wage slave state with the retarded bureaucracy controlling the means of production. If You're gonna have capitalism might as well have the proper western version

What exactly don't you understand in "generalized"?

lol stay mad, ultras. It was socialism.

*generalized commodity production = capitalism

...

You can't settle shit if you don't even understand the arguments of the side you disagree with.

Quoting Lenin is absolutely useless, since every ML will agree that the USSR under Lenin's leadership and the NEP had a predominantly state capitalist mode of production. During Lenin's time the USSR had some state owned industry, some privately owned industry, primitive subsistence farming, semi-feudal farming relations, etc. A lot of different kinds of production existed in the USSR at that time, and it was definitely not socialist yet. ML's explain this in almost every "le not true socialism" thread because someone always makes a strawman argument based on those state capitalism quotes by Lenin.

ML's argue that the USSR became socialist with the five-year plans, under the leadership of Stalin. Lenin was already dead when the first five year plan was introduced.

I'm not saying you are wrong to categorize the USSR (at any time of it's existance) as state capitalist. But quoting Lenin in 1917 to support that conclusion is dumb and you should stop doing it.

Nice socialist commodity production you have there.

Not state capitalism. Degenerated worker's state.
