For all that OPs post is bait, there's an element of truth there: The Guardian under Rusbridger was a good place to discuss news and while CiF always had some preposterous idpol opinions they were presented as part of a plurality of views and commenters were given a reasonably free hand in critiquing them. Since his replacement with a women know to be a raging feminist, CiF and the comment moderation have degenerated significantly; the proportion of idpol based content is the largely dominant proportion of CiF and all but the most milquetoast critique of articles results in banhammers.
