Probably a huge stretch, but King Kong is about a greedy businessman fucking with nature and putting his crew through hellish dangers just to make money. The shitty 1976 version makes it more explicitly leftist by having the Denham proxy be an oil tycoon instead of a filmmaker, but that remake sucks ass.

It's funny you mention it, but my Marxist economics teacher in college was also a movie critic. And King Kong was his favorite movie… so I definitely think there's something to it.
