Fellas, how do you keep the optimism up? I'm sorry if I bring you down with this post, but how do you cope with the fact of how much traction reactionary thought is getting? I even get so misanthropic to the point where I think that maybe humanity really just deserves eternal fascism afterall.
Am I going insane and/or have gotten immensely alienated or have I been looking at it the wrong way? I'm quite tired of feeling this way.
I'm just waiting for things to fall apart. I don't think the spiral that things have been steadily heading down has any chance of pulling back out and eventually something will implode.
I suppose I've always been a bit of a masochist in that regard, though.
Chase Edwards
Is reactionary thought getting traction in your local area? Because overall, I've seen the far-right get constantly cucked over these few months
Dominic Cox
Labour aristocracy and Settlerism is what you're running up against.
To make it worse all the press is controlled by liberals.
As long as you don't expect the wrong things you own't become disappointed.
James Lewis
Yeah, it's getting fucking big in Europe, unsurprisingly.
Kevin Smith
The kicker is that there are no long-term answers to be found in reactionary thought, just recycled attempts to put the genie back in the bottle; it's the ideological equivalent of putting a band-aid on a bullet wound and, ironically enough, capitalism. When it falls apart, and it will, genuine leftists need to be there.
Asher Parker
Whenever I feel like reactionaries are gaining traction I take a minute to read the work of NRx theorists, especially Nick Land and Moldbug. They're godawful writers and their theory is laughably bad. I've been thinking of making some blog posts or videos tearing them apart, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. They're not a theoretical threat and they're not a social threat either.
Fascism requires a traumatic social experience to really take off, and loneliness is that trauma for our modern society. This is probably a good situation for the left because it's not something that people will latch onto politically unless they're pushed in that direction by the left, and SJWism is mostly dying down (hopefully).
Connor Price
Addendum: I meant that loneliness isn't easy to politicize towards right-wing ends, not that it isn't political. Loneliness is universal enough to make associating it with one's nation/race difficult without excessive propaganda.
Jackson Williams
smugness from being right all the time, and from being knowledgeable. Not even joking.
Dylan Brooks
I miss when tankies were recent Holla Forums converts and not reddit sjws.
Jacob Fisher
We all do.
Ian Miller
They're both still proletariat.
Henry Edwards
Almost any tankie or anarchist is guaranteed *self-identified* SJW nowadays. Which is why I don't engage with tankies or anarchists anymore.
"Fascism" is too broad to mean much of anything. I see a lot of reactionary social thought on this board. Socialists can be reactionary/conservative just as much as capitalists.
But as far as the popularity of rightist thought, as far as I know it's always been popular, it's just changing in substance.
On the plus side, people are at least waking up to various inequalities across the political spectrum.
Michael Garcia
Wrong. Wrong again. Read this .pdf, bitch. Wrong. The word "reactionary" doesn't just mean un-woke, moron.
David Clark
Whoops, forgot to attach the file
Owen Johnson
optimism is a spook
Thomas Bennett
capitalism's fall is inevitable due to it's internal contradictions. you just have to realize that we live in a shit period of human history, but not as shit as the people before us.
Ian Powell
Im significantly more concerned about mindless liberal capitalism.
Jonathan Ramirez
I'm more depressed about leftist sectarianism
Ian Turner
no it's not.
Lucas Long
It annoys me that many on the far-left are content with stroking their dicks into the pages of history instead of trying to build something new.
Jace Taylor
if you want to do shitpost constructively just put more straight facts out there on the actually existing elite structure tbh. pro-tip: it's called interlock.
Charles Gomez
What is middle class supposed to mean, petit bourg??
Michael Perry
Tbf I don't, most of the time I'm apathetic, anxious or really down. What >>2089802 said also bothers me.
Adam Edwards
corpnet.uva.nl/brexit/ this doesn't seem to be any kind of official name, just a description of the way things work. unsurprisingly, it's a network.
Wyatt Cooper
The current far-right's days are numbered. Over here in America, Trump and the alt-right have done a number on their reputation. I imagine in Europe it'll be the same. Once they're in power, they'll be revealed for what they are, which is a bunch of noise-making goons with no real solutions, just boogeymen. The only thing keeping them afloat is how thoroughly brainwashed their converts are and the ability to play dirty.
Owen Jones
Burger talk for decently well-off. Often used instead of working-class by media and politicians for obvious reasons.
Eli Williams
I don't mate, I'm almost sure humanity is going to be extinguished in a horrendous desertic Earth, so I get by as best as I can. I don't know whether it's even possible, as comrade Alex Jones has said, to "break the conditioning" so many people are subject to.
