Systemic racism increases the likelihood of one turning to crime because the formal economy locks you out of getting user and being treated with dignity. Tbh, its because the poor black family has been destabilized far more then the white or hispanic poor family. There is an observable correlation between crime rates and family cohesiveness and psycological studies have shown that without proper parental figures during development, the chance of unhealthy behaviors and attitudes (and proportedly the likelihood to engage in criminal action) developing later on skyrockets. The black family in capitalism has been hit the hardest in this regard (through multiple systemic class related causes), with high rates of divorce and abandonment usually leaving only single mothers to raise their kids while also having to work. It creates a vicious cycle and we can see it appearing in increasing factors in white populations as well as time goes on, its just that blacks happend to be hit first historically. It does not factor in the systemic racist practices of the justice system or the fact that on the whole, whites have access to better lawyers. The crime rates amongst poor people will be similar regardless of race, given their literal need to survive as a result of having no fucking prospects, trapped in wage slavery.
