Is a planned economy good? Were the systems of planned economy in the past good implemented?

Is a planned economy good? Were the systems of planned economy in the past good implemented?

don't worry we will solve it with AI

Its shit and we would need science fiction technology to implement it.

Yes
No.

Read cockshott, no meme. Its probably the best layout for planned socialist economies.

No evidence that planning is superior to markets, however, I'll admit the models of calculation and methods of allocation in M-L countries weren't very good even at the time. They also hardly used computers at all and not until it was too late.

Thank you! Still new to socialism and eager to learn more. Its too bad that I can't afford the books that would help me understanding socialism better.

HOLY SHIT is that the whole bok?

Be carefull though, it can be a bit hard on the math and the references to the technologies are outdated (book is 20 years old). You can skip the chapters on feminism and communes if you want to, they are not essential.
Keep in mind that cockshott and his friend are computer scientists, so it prepresumes a bit of a background for certain subjects it talks about.

Yes.

No you don't, fucking read Marx you retard.

all the liberal powers felt the need to implement planned economies during the world wars

moreover, if planned economies are garbage, then unregulated capitalism is also garbage, as capitalism inevitably leads towards capital accumulation and therefore the negation of markets in favor of management

a planned economy ran under transparency and democracy has never been tried

Not only is it good: it is the only way to solve capitalism's contradictions.

It has never been. And when it will be, it will be once and for all.

For a planned economy, as the comrades have said, we will need a system which can take absolutely every metric into account. From the exact number of liters of water drank per day to the exact number of cherries picked today all the way to the average time spent by a citizen in the shower.

Once every metric can be sent to the core processing mechanism, let's say a super AI it will be allowed to LITERALY create utopia. But for this utopia we must give up ALL PRIVACY to the AI and the AI alone.

Everything must be calculated and taken into account, and we cannot have a correct answer to an equasion unless we have all the metrics.

At least that's my little sci fi probably complete crap idea which my fellow comrades are about to probably destroy theory…

It would eliminate poverty in a day.

Someone will have to "regulate" the racist and sexist AI :^)

do market socialists have brain damage

You have provided no evidence whatsoever that planning results in anything poverty.

*anything other than poverty

no we don't. you don't have to reveal your identity in order to tally the things you consume

Or look at the soviet union and "free market" somalia or brazil.

Planning didn't result in poor supplies during either of the World Wars. Sure, there were supply issues (Axis powers were cut out of oil, Allies were cut out of rubber), but those were a result of political factors, not any deficiency inherent in planning. I don't see how the dynamics of providing military goods to armies differ substantially from providing consumer goods to people, other than that in systems without accountability the planners would have a conflict of interest and allocate excess goods towards themselves.

A planned economy is just another form of imperialism. Only it's imperialism of the state over the common man.

Wasted satan trips

Planned economy is the common man freeing himself from being a slave to a degrading social relationship.

Suck capital's cock harder bourgeois bootlicker.
