it's more like the purchasing power of amazon in getting better deals and a better line of credit, I did purchasing for whole foods and this was one of the main issues with competing with walmart.

Yes, this is totally not a marketing campaign and they will definitely not steadily raise the prices once they have scared smaller businesses from their turf, prices will then 'not' reach at least the same levels as before.
This is simply a result of amazon putting the people before profit. Or proles over profit, as I imagine the crypto-communists in their boardroom say. They are definitely /ourmegacorp/.
