I'm not convinced, at all, that he doesn't believe/mean this just the way he said it. To some extent, this is the opposite of the problem with capitalism - "competition" is effectively reduced to advertising and PR, and a pretty stable hierarchy emerges and retains itself. Being as he's part of this, I don't trust Soros to even want to understand what's wrong with these. For the isolated rich, it's very easy to believe that the problem is too much competition or too much freedom, because this absolves them of the guilt that comes with corruption and willful stagnation.
