Why not Greenland?

Greenland as of right now has almost no revolutionary potential, our economy is shit, but we all live modest lives. So why not Greenland?
If enough people come here and start teaching revolutionary works, what's to say we can't have a Council Communist state in Greenland?
I mean there's at least 1 AnCap in Greenland.

because then papa denmark comes in, which brings in the whole of eu and the us to intervene. at least, thats what i think. hows the situation in your part of the world?

Personally for me, okay I guess. We're most isolated so it would be a lot easier to slowly get Marxism rolling without worry of Danes listening in.

i guess it would be a pretty place to hold

as a base for revolution, but it would be difficult getting international influence being so isolated. but marxist potential seems pretty possible, since theyre also less likely to be spooled i guess.
sry, im phoneposting and i fatfingered my response before finishing.

btw, what languages do they speak in greenland? is danish prevalent or is greenlandic more common?

I spoke with some greenlandic native back when I was studying in Denmark. He spoke poor english, but he seemed to be able to speak both greenlandic and danish at the same time.

I don't know how does one convince to get greenlanders to read Marx though.

I looked at their parliament and there's a party called Inuit Ataqatigiit (Community of the People) that's apart of the Nordic Green Left Alliance, and they're also pro-Greenlandic independence apparently. Radicalizing their members and helping them get a majority seems like a plan.

Is greenland the country with the pirate party?

They have their own parliament? I wonder how much independence do they actually have from Denmark right now.

This Community of the People, are they a left-wing party?

No, that would be Sweden.

By definition they would be considered Left, they're Democratic Socialist and pro independence, so there's that. Though, it does say that they've developed towards supporting privatization and a market economy, so obviously that's a pretty big concern, but still, it doesn't look like there's any other leftist parties to choose from in Greenland.

I think you guys are thinking of the Icelandic Pirate Party

Because it's dumb. if we want to start a lifestylist commune anywhere we can do it someplace that isn't fucking aweful too live.

Sounds unironically better than options I've got in my eastern european country, where we have a large socdem presence and a very tiny revleft party which has one anti-idpol Holla Forums-tier guy in his 50's who is even into communist memes and seems pretty cool, but rest of that party is full of tankies and thus marginalized.

I am pretty much cornered to vote socdem, but I wish I could vote for even as much as demsocs or market socialists. All in all, I think I'd not put too much hope to electioneering and just vote not FOR but AGAINST certain political forces I despise. Our socdems are actually pretty good at policing our local far-right party that is gaining ground still in this year and month, pretty scary tbh.

Greenland is owned by denmark and denmark wouldn't let a random american settle in their territory for no reason. Moving is fucking hard.

I remember meeting some Greenlanders once, when I visited a squat that used to be in Copenhagen. (No, I'm not Danish)
They where drinking home moonshine at noon, sitting in a ring while a prepubescent boy ran around poring the booze from a big plastic container, taking care to make sure their cups where never empty.
In short they seemed to have fallen prey to the same demon that hunts many indigenous peoples subjected to colonialism.
Not to generalize, but how prevalent among the locals are these problems? And how likely are we to be seen as colonialists or invaders?
I absolutely think Greenland has potential, by the merit of the small population alone, but I don't know if shipping in commies is the best idea.

Why do people there commit suicide in droves? Does this coupled with revolutionary potential you are talking about mean the Immortal Science of Marxism-Jim Jonesism will have another chance to prove itself as the only correct praxis aiming for the emancipation of the proletariat?

there's multiple countries with a pirate party, the netherlands has one aswell

are there any qts

they aren't a lot of good bands that tour there, sorry ;_;

To make Greenland Communist first we’d need to do a lot of translating texts from French, German, and English into Greenlandic. Then once in power we’d have to make Greenland self-suficent because the world would sanction us. We’d have the natural resources to do it. Greenland has lot’s of natural resources.
theguardian.com/environment/2012/jul/31/history-repeats-greenland-natural-resources
The problem is that Greenland doesn’t have the labor supply to extract enough of those resources to achieve self-sufencecy. To do this we’d have to use lot’s of automation which can be done by sending engineers and inventors to Greenland. They’d have to learn Greenlandic of course, but it can be done. The big problem for Greenland if food supply. The only foodGreenland has is fish so we’d have to build Greenhouses on Greenland to get food.

There's even an American Pirate Party, but I think the Icelandic one is the better known considering they jumped to 2nd/3rd place in the 2016 parliamentary election.

Because you are reliant on resources from the outside world. You are in an even worse position than my own country.

Where do you live?
